Maybe 09. And considering that was also one of Lebron's best seasons. It's funny that if Wade had that season in any of the previous 5 seasons (excluding Paul's 08 and maybe excluding Kobe's 06, I need look further into that to know for sure), he'd be without a doubt the best.

Hard to tell. I think in his 08-09 season, coming off of a huge injury and leading the Olympic team to gold, he might have been the best player for that year.

Nah, I don't think so.

He's been borderline though and does have the argument.

The first year Lebron won MVP or Kobe (sorry I forgot which year that was) he averaged something like 30-5-8 with 2 steals and a block on like 50% shooting. I think the Heat also went from winning like 17 games to winning 43 and making the playoffs.

I don't think so either. He's been very close, but there can only be one #1, and I don't think he was ever that...

No,Wade had a phenomenal season in 09 but Lebron had a historical season that year and arguably the best postseason ever STATISTICALLY.So I don't see how can anyone make the case for Wade over Lebron in 09.Also in 2010 Lebron was clearly superior statistically.
Wade's strongest case for being the best player is 2011 IMO especially after Lebron's finals.

That being said Wade has been a top 3 player in the last 3 years.

Arguably 2006, 2009, 2010, and right now.

But lets get one thing straight, he is the best player on the Miami Heat right now and of all-time.

Dirk was easily better in 2006. I'd take LeBron and Kobe as well. Chauncey probably was better that season too.

He was not better than LeBron in 2009 and 2010. Only a Wadeaphile or a LeBronaphobe would say so.

And right now, I think LeBron and Dwight are better...and Paul and Dirk aren't far behind, if behind at all.

He's been top 3 a good amount of times, but the clear best player??? Nah.

 Chauncey averaged 18.5 pts, 8.5 ast, 3 rebs, and 1 stl shooting 43% from 3 and 42% overall. Wade averaged Wade averaged 27 pts, 7 asts, 6 rebs, 2 stls, 1 blk on 50% shooting. While Wade's three pt percentage was atrocious, he was still way better than Chauncey Billups and it isn't even close. I also fail to see how Dirk was "easily better". Wade's stats were superior and the Heat beat the Mavs in the 06 Finals, with Wade winning the Finals MVP.

Dirk better in '06?
LeBron and Dwight currently better? Dirk is better if anyone right now.

Take your fail elsewhere.

For an entire season, tough to say. But he's been the best player on the floor for long stretches, including the playoffs.

People knock Kobe for winning his first 3 with Shaq, but Wade hardly ever catches that same flack.

He was the best in the league in 2008-2009 for sure. He arguably had the best statistical season of the decade with his team improving from 17 wins to 43 wins.

Another one thats a tough call. I think LeBron is the better overall player on a night in, night out basis, but if you have the personnel to clog the lane and make LeBron shoot he's not as effective.

The conference finals and the finals are all about matchups, but you need LeBron to help get you to that point.

He also doesnt like to have the ball in his hands late because hes afraid of being hacked and sent to the line. Though you could say the same about Shaq and Dwight and other dominant players.

I take LeBron against 90% of the league and Wade against 100. I take both of them to the bank.

In terms of?

That LBJ and CP could argue their stats were just as impressive.
Cavs increased their record from 45 - 66 which is not quite as much but much more difficult then raising from 17 - 43.

I don't want to go over the roster analysis here because it's been done many times. Wade single-handedly turned that team from 17 wins to 43 wins with one of the worst casts ever. Wade was the superior player in the Olympics as well while LeBron, CP3 and other superstars were his teammates.

hmmm why do you think that is? maybe because wade had the best finals performance of all time in that series? oh and shaq was still good but not like he was when he played with kobe as the leading man. alonzo mourning was actually more important at times in that series late in games.

and just curious, is this wade week on psd or something? i've never seen this many wade threads all at once like i have over the last couple days lol.

I think you'd have to go with LeBron on this one. Look at Wade's team success in the 3 seasons before LeBron came to town. ppl always bring up the Finals but forget how LeBron dismantled the Bulls in the series before.

I think I would take LeBron, because at the end of the day I think it would be easier to find somebody to shoot at the end of games than it would be to find a guy as versatile as LeBron that could play/defend just about every position. Besides, LeBron can and has hit his share of game winning shots in the playoffs.

I think you have more holes starting a team with Wade instead of LeBron.

I dont think Kobe has had a season better then Wade's 09.

offensively his 06 season was close but 09 Wade was miles better defensively.

Wade gets underrated by alot of people, the two years he had a good/decent supporting Cast and was healthy 06,11 he made the Finals and Won a Ring

You could argue 2008-2009, but LeBron had his best statistical season then. I think 2006 is arguable too, but Dirk and Kobe in particular had their best statistical seasons then as well. You could definetely have a legit debate on this in those two seasons.

My opinion and statistically he has a valid argument in 08-09.

The team was relatively unchanged from the same team that won 17 games the year before. They added Beasley, Chalmers, and James Jones. Jones was injured the whole season, Beasley had a very slow learning curve, and Chalmers was just solid.. and he led them to 43 wins and a 5th seed.

But off-topic... It's always interesting how people base their case on stats when they feel like it, and not when they don't. In '06 Kobe or whoever is better because they had better regular season stats, regardless of where they finished in the standings or how early their playoff exit was. Then in '09 people will say Kobe or LeBron was best because they were the best player on the top teams. Screwy logic that's really inconsistent.
