In hopes of getting the NBA season get started on time, I've decided to try and find out where the $300 000 000 that they lost went. Mostly it went to paying people not to play basketball. Here's the list I got so far. Please feel free to add some other buyouts (or

Jalen Rose: $14,601,500
Ben Wallace: $14,500,000
Steven Francis: $32,250,000
Stephan Marbury: $20,840,625
Peja Stojakovic: $14,896,000
Michael Finley: $50,673,249
Eddy Curry: $31,754,998 (including the buy out and sitting him out)
Zydronus Ilgauskus: $11,541,074
Troy Murphy: $11,968,253
Jamaal Tinsley: $11,950,000
Mike Bibby: $5,564,767
Alonzo Mourning: $4,000,000

Paying players millions of dollars to not play basketball? I wonder if its the salary cap structure that is causing teams to lose money?

Besides knowing where the bodies are buried (an idle threat, thus far), possibly Stern knows where the money is buried also.

Under Mark Cubans pillow? Maybe he found it and thought it was spare change and never returned it... Understandable mistake

^^^^^^No argument about that here, but how do you stop this train wreck from happening? I wonder which player/team actually started this ridiculous amount per average player?

owners need to take a look in the mirror, and make better decisions. You cant expect the players to turn down contracts because they think its too much money. No employee in any business or any field should be punished for agreeing to compensation that might be considered too high.

If someobdy believes in you enought to pay you 5 times as much as anybody else. its not like the players are holding guns to anybodys heads.
