I may start threads for other leagues as time goes on, but I'll probably follow this league more than others.

When I post in this thread, it will be mostly news and scores.

To start off the thread here are a couple pieces of news from the league.

Former UK Cat Joe Crawford to play for Rishon

Jordan Farmar Agrees with Maccabi Electra

Bnei Hasharon Sign Trevor Booker of the Wizards
I don't really want to nitpick, but he signed in Israel not with Israel...

DJ Gay in talks with Ashkelon; Maccabi Haifa agree to terms with D-Leaguer Jeremy Wise

Elitzur Ashkelon is trying to bounce back from a terrible season where it finished in last place winning just six of its twenty-seven games. After signing Israeli PG Niv Berkowitz and agreeing on terms with big men Jonhatan Nir and Marco Killingsworth, Ashkelon is searching for its first American guard and one of the possible recruits whose name was associated with the team and mentioned repeatedly in Israel is D.J. Gay from San Diego St University.

At six feet, Gay was one of the quickest guards to come out of the NCAA Mountain West Conference this year. A guard, who can shoot from range when needed and control the pace of a game simultaneously, rewarded Gay with the 2011 MWC Regular Season Champion and an honorable All-MWC first team awards.

In each year as a student athlete, Gay improved his scoring, rebounding and assist averages as he fully matured his senior year at SDSU, averaging 11.1 points, 2.2 boards, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

Jeremy Wise close to agreeing terms with Haifa.

As posted in Israel and according to sources with information on terms of negotiations who confirmed details to 'Eurobasket', Israel's Maccabi Haifa and American point guard Jeremy Wise are in advanced negotiations and may agree on terms shortly. Wise almost had a done deal with Hapoel Jerusalem who eventually signed Israeli point guard Yuval Naimy. The fact that the two would have combined to a significantly short back court line, forced Jerusalem to go in a different direction.

Now, Haifa put a respectful offer on a table and wise has until tomorrow (Monday) to respond officially.

Wise is an extremely gifted scorer with a quick first step who likes to finish at the rim. While playing 53 games in the D-League this past season for the Bakersfield Jam before heading to Europe for a short stint, Wise improved both his ball handling skills and court vision decisions. Defensively, his long arms and quick feet helped him reach a 1.8 steal average while playing in Europe.

Wise finished his college career at Southern Mississippi as a starter playing in 32 games his final year, averaging 16.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 4.7apg and 1.3spg. Shortly after, Wise played for the Bakersfield Jam and recorded 16.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists in his first year with the team.

Last year, the 25-year-old point guard began back-to-back seasons with Bakersfield and this time around, averaged 14.9ppg, 3.2rpg, 4.9apg and 1.2spg before moving to Italy and joining second divisions Sigma Barcellona, where he played five games and posted numbers of 16.0ppg, 1.8rpg, 3.0apg and 1.8spg.
