View Full Version : How will the lockout affect Kobe's legacy?

He's going to miss a year probably and he is already on his last leg? Is the Kobe show officially over (if we lose the 11-12 season)?

A year w/o the wear and tear of an nba season would probably help him more than it would hurt him...

his age will catch up with him.

it doesnt affect his legacy at all.

Agree. I don't think the lockout affects his legacy at all.

Why would the lockout effect his legacy? Could it hurt his chances at more titles? Maybe. Time off could actually help him though. His legacy is pretty set though and certainly won't be hurt.

omg do u have nothing else better to do?

Won't hurt him at all. He is already in decline, there really isn't much he can do to advance in the all time rankings at this point. It hurts guys like Dirk, LeBron, Wade, or anyone else in their prime on a contender right now much more than it hurts Kobe

It'll help him more than hurt him if he continues to stay in shape which he will. Jordan was winning titles at Kobe's age (mid-30's) but Kobe obviously has more mileage. But, Kobe is smart and crafty enough to play well even in his later years such as Jordan did.

Not at all, he's already an all-time great.

It will hurt his all time stats but I think his legacy is kinda of set in stone at this point.

Considering the fact that Kobe caused the lockout, I think will take a major hit on his legacy.

It could help him in a way. With limited games, he might have a better chance to pad his stats (or he may get off to a slow start)

Legacy has already been established so I agree with those who say it won't hurt him. A little time off can only help him though.

it won't deny kobe of his greatness. but it will hurt his milestones and achievements.

taking a year away from an aging star in a slightly questionable team will certainly hurt.

considering how he's being compared to MJ and how people know kobe has been chasing jordan's 6 titles, it might hurt him a bit if he can't even match that 6 rings. you know how people always looks at these things.

Ha ha. I was being sarcastic. :) The lockout won't affect his legacy at all.
