Not a ****ing clue. I'm gonna change my vote. I'll vote David Stern. He's pretty good at passing for a human being, but we all know what he really is... (http://www.toplessrobot.com/leprechaun8.jpg)

And nobody can have his pot of gold. That's the one thing he will not pass.

Rajon Rondo
Steve Nash
Chris Paul

It doesn't really matter which one is the best because they are all better than anyone else. They're equally accurate, crafty in their own ways, will all take the hockey assist, and Chris and Rajon still have plenty of time to catch up to Nash.

One argument with and for Rondo is that nobody is gonna leave their man to respect his jumper, so he has to be more creative. Apart from drawing the double team in the paint and hitting the open man, Nash and Paul make some of their best passes when a defender is closing out on them.

Kashmir13579

He has never been on the level of these guys, he's in the lower echelon in terms of passing. Which isn't even a knock on his passing because the 3 players ahead of him are unreal and look to pass more often.

And yes, I do think he cares about the stat sheet.

The most interesting part of that video was Rose throwing the ball away and then none of them got back on D. Why not let one of his scorers get the bucket? I can't really defend that video because its blatant right there; but thats all it is - one video. I watch the Celtics play more than any other team but the Knicks, and i can tell you for a fact that Rondo is about the win. Like i said earlier, He'll take the hockey assist more often than not.

My guess is his natural instinct to throw the flashy pass took over, he thought there was potential for an off the backboard alley-oop, when he realized none of the bulls got back on D, he kicked it to Ray Allen. No Harm in that, it was a win-win. And a freak occurrence for that matter.

I've seen plenty of PGs do something similar, including Nash and Chris Paul, but nobodies gonna make a video for them because they aren't bashed for their inability to put the ball in the hoop.

My point still stands about him not wanting to get fouled in traffic, and making what would be an unnecessary pass for PGs who can shoot FTs. Its smart. He plays to his strengths and aggressively avoids his weaknesses.

It's true tho, all Rondo can do is pass. If he was forced to play for a team unable to space the floor like Boston can, he'd be a completely one-dimensional player. However, the fact is he IS on the Celtics and plays with not 1, not 2, but 3 HOF candidates who can all shoot the midrange and more.

If, the important word in this sentence, the Celtics hadn't made the Big 3 trade, I'd be one of the few interested in seeing how great Rondo would be with just Pierce and Al Jefferson.

Nash, then about half the universe distance and then come Rondo and CP3. It's not about fancy passing like Rondo does, but seeing the court and getting the ball at the right time into the hands of the right guy. A bloke like Deron Williams is a scoring point guard, it's not about passing for him. CP3 all around is the best PG, and that's due to the fact that he passes AND scores like an animal.

Some of you people are crazy.
First of all if you had Pierce, Allen, KG, Shaq, Big Baby and all that talent around you and you hardly shot the ball its easy to rack up assists. If Chris Paul was on the Celtics and hardly shot the ball and just racked up assists he would avg like 20 a game. Now to the people who arent even mentioning Deron.
Deron in the last 3 years has the most 20 and 10 games in the NBA, he also broke the record for most assists with a new team this year in 5 games.
It goes
Deron Williams
Chris Paul
Steve Nash
LeBron James

he plays good D, and he can definitely score just cause he chooses to be a true point guard instead of a chucker doesn't mean he can't put the ball in the hoop. He's proved in the playoffs he could take his scoring up

I honestly have to say rondo.

My reason is no one guards him. Lebron imo shouldnt even be mentioned because in order to stop him you have to double an triple team him which leaves his guys wide open for an easy assit.
With rondo guys back off 5 feet and let him shoot or drive. Not much help defense so IMO he has to set his guys up alot harder then lebron dwill rose nash cp3 and others.
But ofcourse alot of his assist come from playing with KG Paul and Ray Ray. lol

It was rlly nash and cp3 for me,but i went with chris. u guys forget that chris paul is playing with in a defensive minded team, he also wasnt fully healthy to start the season, so dont throw out the apg numbers, nash plays in a run and gun system. Besides nash only averaged 1.5 assists more and chris paul averaged 1.5 turnovers less. I wasnt even thinking about stats when i picked cp3 btw.

Nash or Rondo would be my argument for best passer. I think I'd roll with Nash here. He can make anyone look good. Rondo has the big 3 around him, not to take anything away from him but he's not Nash status yet, maybe give it a few years though. Other interesting passers are Goran Dragic and Beno Udrih, as well as Jose Calderon. Ricky Rubio should be one of the premier passers as well.

saying Nash,cp3 or Rondo is the best isn't being a homer. Saying either one of Cp3, Rondo, or Nash being the best by a mile or easily is being biased.

Stats don't lie, CP3 has the best ast-to rate in the league for the last 5 years and it hasn't been close... (apt = assists per turnover)

CP3:
2007 - 3.6apt
2008 - 4.6apt
2009 - 3.7apt
2010 - 4.3apt
2011 - 4.5apt

Nash:
2007 - 3.1apt
2008 - 3.1apt
2009 - 2.9apt
2010 - 3.0apt
2011 - 3.2apt

Rondo:
2007 - 2.1apt
2008 - 2.7apt
2009 - 3.2apt
2010 - 3.2apt
2011 - 3.3apt

As you can see, neither Nash or Rondo has had a season where they were better passers than CP3. Efficiency is much more important than quantity when comparing players who do as much for their teams as these guys do. You can take the best season from Nash/Rondo and that would be the worst season CP3 ever had passing the ball (3.4apt in his rookie season)... When you compare passers, stats tell all and they don't lie, CP3 does more with much less; EASILY the best passer in the league.

No D-Will love here?

D-Will, CP3, Nash, Kidd, Rondo, no particular order.

D Will is one of the best PG's, top two in fact! But his game that puts him up there isn't by passing. When you sit down and watch him play he runs the plays correctly but the passes aren't perfect or unbelivable. Only guy that makes extraordinary passes on the regular is Steve Nash, and his still not in the CP3 and D Will class, his passing is better, has the shooting, but those guys possess the killer instinct and Nash doesn't.

How do you call a guy who averages 10 assists a scoring point guard,he can score but can pass with anyone.

Derrick rose Is a scoring pg,so is Westbrook.

CP3 is easily better and you don't have a single fact to back up your claim of any of those guys being on his level... Rondo just passes everything to rack up assist totals, hell I've seen him pass up open layups just so he'd get an assist. Nash is overrated, WAY too many turnovers for the amount of assists he's had and playing with a guy like Amare helps a whole bunch.

CP3 is easily the best passer in today's league and one of the GOAT passers in league history.

and then what happened? Rondo regressed badly in the 2nd half. Rondo also passes up shots to throw a pass due to him not being a scoring threat.

I think Rondo is one of the top passers, but he isn't better than Paul. Paul runs the offense like a conductor. His passes come at the perfect time. If he had KG, Pierce, Allen, instead of West, Ariza, and whomever the hell the Hornets decide that night to masquerade at SG, I think Paul would have actually broken records.

what happened? plantar fasciitis, a bum ankle, and an injured finger he played with the whole season after his good start. yea yea yea I'm not feeding into that hypothetical situation because it means nothing and if he was such a superior passer he'd be getting more assists now

well since you are not into hypotheticals, than we can agree what Rondo did last year was what Rondo did, despite circumstances. Paul has already put up two seasons far better in assist rate. Paul has also topped Rondo's assists from this year in a season.

By the way, isn't Paul playing on 1.5 knees? Nobody is using his injuries as an excuse.

As I said as well, Rondo literally overdribbles and passes up shots to get rid of the ball. And ignoring the scoring help he has had is ridiculous. Any distributing PG could only dream of having scoring options that were elite at the 2, 3, and 4 position.

Kidd, Nash, Rondo, and CP3 are all great passers. I think Rubio joins them next year however.

I am very hard on Rondo, but his passing ability is great.

I also want to give a shout out to Jrue Holiday and Ty Lawson. I think they will be the next great passers along with Rubio

want to bump this hustle, so you don't think I am being unreasonable.

But you need to understand cirumstances, role, and support when you just make these iron clad evaluations you always make

Kidd. He doesn't have the athleticism anymore to be as much of a playmaker and create the opportunities to make the types of passes he used to. If you're talking about pure court vision, which is how some people might define passing, then i say Kidd.
