Why? Every game Bautista plays in is a HR derby

I can't wait to see Bautista **** all over the rest of the field. T.O. is right his swing is absolutely perfect for the derby.

Remember when Rios finished second? Why, because he was hitting everything on a line at that point in his career. Bautista does that but hits it about 10 times harder when he makes contact.

Absolutely agree with everyone. Forget his swing, his entire batting approach was made for a HR derby. Its all predicated on timing and when pitches are flying in at virtually the same slow speed, theres no reason for him not to do well.

It's been said that the home run derby can mess you up. Hoping it doesn't happen to Jose. Lets see him dominate the HRD and get a few in the game :P

Really hope his swing doesn't get messed up...hoping he goes for 50 again this year and silences all the critics. Anybody hear what Cliff Lee said about Jose not being the best in baseball after the game?

he needs to treat it like batting practise. I dont want him to change his approach too much just for the HR derby. its screwed batters over in the past

Let's go Jose. Blow away the competition.

I think thats a load of crap that it throws off your timing. Players take batting practice every day at the same speed as the derby. Players like A-rod have used it as an excuse but i dont think it has anything to do with it

He basically said Pujols is because he's been doing it for a decade now. Don't see why someone would have an issue with that opinion.

there are times where the derby may ruin some swings but like people said above hes got a really good swing that seems made for HR derbys without having to vhange it

lol the reason HR derby can mess up peoples swing is because at the derby you swing for the fences on every swing, Jose already does that so I don't see how this could mess up his swing. If you want to mess up his swing make him join a singles derby or something.
