View Full Version : A Re-Energized Kobe?

We all saw the decline in Kobe Bryant this season, it shocked me too say the least because I thought for sure the Lakers would turn on that "switch" and it would be game over. But this year it was different, the Mavericks demolished the Lake Show and now it seems everyone is writing off the black mamba. But me personally I think we will see a different animal next year in Kobe. For this reason

Lets go over the last seasons for Kobe

2008- Loss in the NBA finals to the Boston Celtics and right after that he wins Gold for the USA Team, also take note Gasol had a very long season. (103 Games + Olympics)

2009- Kobe goes to the NBA finals again and defeats the Magic (105 Games)

2010- Kobe once again returns to the NBA finals and it takes 7 Games to defeat the Celtics (96 Games)

Plus add in the injuries that kobe has had (Finger, Knee etc.)

I think with the early playoff exit this year and the addition of the lockout, we see a rejuvenated Kobe and Laker team that was just physically exhausted

what do you think

Yes, Kobe is going to be the GOAT.

Oh yea, he is putting in work (http://www.prosportsdaily.com/network/network-article.aspx?articleid=519436) to be the GOAT!

It's insane that he's basically played 5 seasons worth of games in the last 4 years. Add in all those injuries, guy is a warrior.

i think kobe has one more run left in him

Why do people keep mentioning the lockout? It has had no effect whatsoever on basketball activities yet..

good point, kobe hasnt had this much rest for seasons now. I think it will do him real good.

shaking head at those who say kobe's done. say what you want about bryant but "done' he is far from

he just had some surgery about a month ago. he has few months to rest up so he will be fresh come preseason. i think he has 2 good years and then 1-2 average and then after that its career over in nba.

Honestly, I don't think it's his knee so much as his finger arthritis. He needs to refing his shot and elevate his percentages and he will go right back to number one....or two behind d12 actually

I think he has some left in the tank. He's obviously not going to put up '06-'07 numbers (nor will he have to), but I do think there's some quality basketball left in him. I'm glad someone else has brought up how many games the Lakers had played over the last few years, I don't think enough credence has been given to how exhausted they were (mentally as well as physically).

Even if they had been fresh I think the Mavs would have had them though, they were too good this summer.
