Immediately after Olympiakos's loss to Panathinaikos in the league final series, a part of the press and of the Olympiakos hardcore fans had asked the Angelopoulos brothers to go.

Reports over the previous days suggested that the players have not been paid for the last three to four months, while the final nail in the coffin appears to have been the revelation that Olympiakos forward Yiannis Bourousis allegedly discussed taking performance-enhancing drugs on the telephone with Kavala soccer club owner Makis Psomiadis.

This leaves both main Greek clubs, Olympiakos and Panathinaikos, with their owners discussing exit strategies, after the Giannakopoulos family also put up a «for sale» sign on the European champions.
This is exactly what will happen to clubs like Sacramento, Suns, Bobcats, Bucks, T'wolves, etc...with the rate of the current CBA. Too much financial burden and no incentive for some owners to support NBA teams.

The difference between them and the NBA owners is a salary cap. Owners will never have to worry about going bankrupt like Dodgers or these guys.

They were also reportedly going to offer Nate Robinson 2 yr/$50 million deal after his 2008 season.

NBA should purchase/take over the team and move them to Seattle... ? Just an idea... ( I know, not gonna happen )

Not really. Bottom line is revenue for individual clubs. If their Debt is so massive it out-weighs franchise value they will be unable to support the team. What Frank McCourt did is use the Dodgers to pay for his houses, his divorce, other personal crap etc..Dodgers are still extremely valuable which is why he wont sell them. According to Forbes they still are worth almost 2X as much as the Lakers. Now the Bobcats? Same fate as Olympiakos.

And btw, Panathinaikos is not for sale. The owners say that stuff every year and they still pay millions and stick by the team :) The daughter of one of the owner will take control of the team so it's not like Olympiakos who are basically just signing players for the sake of it.

It's the team that hoped that Josh Childress and Linas Kleiza would save them. Kleiza was a beast, but Childress was too funny and sucked a lot, I was so pissed he left :D Nesterovic also signed for them but he got a career-ending injury a few months back.

P.S: They didn't offer Nate that much money, didn't offer Kobe that much money. It was just rumours. ;) They tried to approach Lebron though in 2010... :D
