View Full Version : Post-draft, it's so painful now that there's no summer league

Every year after the draft we always could look forward to the newbs showcasing their talent in the summer league.

Except for this one. Now, the new talent will be kept in the shadows.

What a massive disappointment. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but I'm really angry about this. It really doesn't hurt the owners so much, or the players union (led by vets). It's a kidney punch to the future of the NBA, and the players who comprise that future.

Way to respect your own game, douchebags (and I mean all of them on all sides of the labor dispute). #FAIL

Well there is kind of a lockout, so not much they can do about that. I don't know if it affects the Summer League or not.

I didn't get to watch anything with Brandon Knight because I was so focused on Kanter/Valancuinas/Vesely/Biyombo. Sad that I won't get to see Knight for a long time.

This was all I was thinking about during the draft last night. It really was a buzz kill.

It sucks. I really wanted to see some of the C's young guys.

Yep, the buzz is over now. In a week, there will for sure be a lockout with the owners and Stern being so inflexible and arrogant in these discussions. We are at the peak of interest in the NBA, and they are doing this.

Its even more annoying to teams that are young. They will not be able to train with coaching staffs, get experience playing against other NBA talents in summer league, etc.

With the arrogance of the owners right now, we may miss a large portion of the season. Hopefully they come to their senses and realize avoiding a lockout is actually what is best for their pocket books. That an maybe don't offer max deals to 3rd and 4th tier players. GM's and Owners honestly need to be saved from themselves. They are their own problem
