I wouldn't mind the lakers getting him but only if we gave up Blake because if not our backcourt would be stacked

Id rather find a better starting pg...but I'd still rather have JJ starting instead of Fish or Blake

I see Miami wanting to use the MLE (if it stays) on a center, also I see Cuban trying hard to resign him, but he does have to worry cause I believe Chandler and Butler are free agents as well. Should be intresting though. I just dont see him leaving Dallas though.

I agree. I think Cuban does whatever he needs to keep Chandler and Barea this off season.

dont see him being a good fit in la or mia with all that offense. He should stay with mavs or go to spurs if parker is traded

He would be a great addition for any of the 3 teams he considers other than Dallas.

I would love him being our jet off the bench.

Ginoblli is by far the dean of flopp. My man Fisher is an professor, and Lebron and Wade are his star pupils.

I am not sold on him yet, he is a good energy player but has to improve passing but i hope he stays with MAVS under Kidd who can teach him a thing or two about being a great passer

This. I'm interested to see how that affects Caron though. I wonder if they could move Caron to get a higher draft pick. Not sure what Caron's trade value is, but it can't be less than above average.

Stacked? Our PG position is anything but stacked regardless of how many players are at the 1.

Not interested. He's a one hit wonder and he's probably using those other teams as a threat to make more money like ummmmmmmmmm, Fisher, Odom and J Johnson did last off season. I hope they bite and overpay like the Hawks and Lakers did.

LOL says the guy who has Mike Bibby, Mario Chalmers and Eddie House as his PG options...

Shouldn't your account be deleted because the Dallas Mavericks whooped Miami's *** in the Finals?

I would take him though, he's better than any PG the Lakers currently have. Shoots better, rebounds better, passes A LOT better..

He will stay a Mav or go to another team though, doubt the Lakers are really in consideration on both parts. If he wants to start, he has a high chance at doing that in L.A though. ;)

He'd be a very nice back up for the knicks, if Billups gets injured he can start. I was very impressed how he played in the playoffs.

They can't do anything with Caron Butler, he's a free agent.

J.J. is overrated in my opinion. I think he's a quality reserve, but he played so good for a month that he might actually get paid like a starter. Personally I'm hoping by the Mavs, because Chandler and Butler are better than J.J. will ever be. Love how people forget that defense is 50% of the game... and guys like J.J. play none.

Agreed no thanks. He is not a starter but might get paid like one because of a couple games in the playoffs. Those guys are the ones always overpaid.

Umm you all do realize he's played consistent to how he did in the playoffs all regular season right? He can penetrate and find open shooters and break down a team's defense. Then he can shoot. That's why he will get paid.

+1... Barea has proven over the course of this season that he can be a very effective player at the 1 or the 2... He's small but very strong and scrappy. Defensively he's a liabilty but he's pesky. Whether he come back to Dallas or not, he's gonna be a very good player for a long time. He's proven that he has game.

If he goes to the Heat he automatically becomes the best player on that team. Only Mike Miller and Illgauskus are on Barrea's level.

shep33
06-23-2011, 09:18 PM
I just don't want him (Lakers) because of his price and he just doesn't fit with us. He's very good at getting dribble penetration and kicking to shooters, but we have no shooters lol

TylerSL
06-23-2011, 11:25 PM
i would rather use the MLE on Dalembert and give Patrick Beverley a chance to back up Chalmers next season. JJ would be a good pickup tho, but the money can be spent better.

TylerSL
06-23-2011, 11:43 PM
I think JJ will stay in Dallas and will be the 6th Man their, and start once Kidd retires.

If goes to New York tho, it would be a perfect fit for both sides. New York needs the kind of player like him. He will make space for Melo and Amare and it will be very tough for teams to defend them. Barea would also get some money (I could see New York giving him a little more than the mid).

He would make Miami better, no doubt about it. He would create space fore Wade/Lebron/Bosh and even give our shooters (Chalmers/Miller/Jones) less attetion than they already get. However, Miami would be much wiser to use the MLE on Samuel Dalembert if they can.

If he went to LA he would probably start over Fisher, which would improve LA. He would be a good pickup for the Lakers, and I think the Lakers would be smart to use the MLE on him if they could.
