Seems like Ohioans won't forgive or forget. Even though the state's former favorite son LeBron James lost the NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks.

John Kasich, Governor of James' home state of Ohio, has issued a resolution making the Mavs "honorary" Ohioans for beating James' Miami Heat in the Finals.

LeBron to Haters: Get a life

The Ohio's Governor's resolution doesn't name the ring-less King James, who became persona non grata among many sports fans in the Buckeye State after dumping the Cleveland Cavaliers on ESPN's The Decision for the Heat.

But Kasich heaps praise on the Mavs for their "loyalty, integrity and teamwork." It singles out NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki for forgoing free agency last summer "thus remaining loyal to the team, city and fans for whom he played his entire career."

Cavaliers fans still disappointed about James' departure dubbed the Mavs the "Mavaliers" and "Cavericks" during the Finals. Kasich says "the proud city of Cleveland and the entire state of Ohio share in the excitement of Dallas Mavericks fans everywhere."

why would anyone want to be an honorary Ohioan? It would be really fitting if they turned him down!

What a pathetic State.

At least they didn't corrupt and alter the entire future of the American budget and constitution by swinging fraud votes to a certain president.

Also no old people.

then I heard it the fourth, fifth, and sixth time...

Now I am reading this for the seventh time... it has lost all of its funniness at this point. Find a new joke.

You find it funny cuz you like many in this country rooted against Miami. Which is fine by me.

As a heat fan, I chucked myselt yet he was very serioues and thats what makes him pathetic. Doesn't he have something better to do like trying to get re-elected? oh wait this must be his plan to sway Ohioans into voting for him. smh

The hate has gotten ridiculous.

These people need to get over it.

I think they do need to get over it and perhaps part of the blame should go on their team for not building a team around LeBron which would have motivated him to stay. I'm on Cleveland's side regarding the LeBron fiasco, but if they would have built a better team around him things may have turned out differently.

man, cleveland did everything to keep him there. "put a better team around him?" they finished with the best record in the league!! get that ***** outta here man! let cleveland have their victory. they've suffered enough. btw, ohio has really hot white chicks. so, yeah. i could think of alot worse places to be than ohio. like new jersey for example. :)

I seriously disagree with how the higher ups in Ohio are reacting to Lebron James leaving the Cavs. People like the governor and owner should stay away from stuff like that. Just focus on making your team/franchise/city better not bitter. :pity:......leave the hating to the fans.

Governors are actually aloud to be passionate sports fans?

Good move by the governer. He's playing to the emotion of the people that ultimately decide if he gets to continue to stay in office. Brilliant politics...
