Typically, each year people will watch the playoffs. I don't know if it's the NFL lockout and no free agency or the hype that was surrounding the Heat (maybe a combination of both) but I seen people developing a strong interest in the game. Highest rating in finals history, It made people want to watch basketball more regularly.

Did the 2011 playoffs/finals make any of you bigger fans than you already were?

with the lockout in the nfl, more people will be watching the NBA. If a lockout in the nba occurs, im not sure what i'd do.

Always been a fan, but I must say no Football or not Free Agency made me actually root for a team. Very happy for Dallas

I was always a fan but this yr was full of the excitement. IMO and I could be wrong but the NBA has been a big story since the 2010 finals to right now. You can make the case they might be right behind the NFL interms of popularity. There was so much news over the past yr: Kobe winning his fifth, the free agent frenzy, Lebron going to South Beach, Melo drama, Cp3 and his situation, the Big 3 press conference, Melo coming to the Knicks, Deron going to the Nets, Blake Griffin, AS weekend having an increase in ratings, young teams taking a step forward, the upsets in the playoffs, etc.

That's why I hope there isn't a lockout the league has so much momentum right now.

You do know the NBA is heading straight for a lockout and I wouldn't be surprised for a short season next year. Everyone join the hockey bandwagon.

I'd still choose baseball over hockey (and I'm a cubs fan)

Always been a fan but this was the happiest I've been to see a team win the title since the Pistons won it in '04

I'm just gradually becoming more and more of a fan of the game, regardless of what happens in the season. It's getting ridiculous, though. Usually I'm a four sport guy, but basketball is dominating all of the others now.

I have always been a die hard Heat fan, but the Marlins always came first for me in terms of whom I preferred to watch. This time for the first time in my life, I was watching Heat games instead of Marlins games. (Also because it's easier to watch Heat games given I live in Alabama now).

I had a few friends who weren't NBA fans literally at all...and really got totally consumed with these playoffs.

I've been a huge NBA fan for a while now, nothing is changing anytime soon...up or down.

The NBA is happy to hear that because there are many fans that feel the same way.

I'm going back to masturbating multiple times a day. IF Football and BBAll are in a lockout.

But Seriously I've been an avid fan of the NBA when I was 7ish I would watch every game I can. I do the Same with Football but I tend to talk more and be more informed with Basketball then Football.
