Woelfel isn't much of a inside source. But mentions theres talks of Gasol to Milwaukee for Jennings and other pieces. He mentions Jennings,Ersan and maybe #10 pick for Gasol. Salaries don't match. Unless Maggette is tossed into the deal.

The trade talks start around 23 minute mark then mentions Gasol around 26 minute mark.

Talks bout Calderon too.

THoughts?

they probably feel thats a good mismatch in the east since no other team woudl ahve a similar quality Pf and C combo?

so brandon jennings, kobe, artest, lamar odom and bynum? at least they get a PG but too bad its one who will jack up bad shots. they need a facilitator at PG and one that can knock down shots if their open

It wouldn't matter because you can still do something with bogut. And if they kept him he would fit nicely with kobe and could spell Bynum. And is it for sure he can't play the 4? I remember him playing it in his rookie year but that was a long time ago.

One good thing out of this is that you wouldn't have to defend Pau from the Laker fans who bash him all the time :D

I'm trying to think of ways why I wouldn't like this trade or why I would. I just can't really come up with anything right now.

I am thinking the Lakers should be able to get something better than that for Pau but after his performance in these playoffs, Maybe not.

Lakers have a big payrole and got sweap in the second round there will be changes and some will be cost cuts. the System has changes this will not be the same team. After all Gasol said he had trouble staying focus. They call it tweeks but they are rebuilding in hopes they landing Howard.

So, the Bucks would trade their team away for Pau? Seems like a bad trade on both ends of the deal. Unless, its going to a double trade of the Lakers in sending Bynum/Jennings/picks to Orlando for Howard/other pieces. People bringing up what Pau did for the Lakers in getting them to the finals and what not, look at what they did with Ariza who help do the same thing. Shipped him off and brought in Artest. There is no loyalty within in the NBA.

FarOutIos
06-05-2011, 07:30 AM
Call me crazy... but I like this trade from the Lakers standpoint. Pau is getting old quick.

So they would get a good young PG who has the potential to be a great player.

Also, they get a top 10 draft pick. There are still some really good players that could be available at that pick. Maybe someone like Donatas Motiejunas, who could be very similar to Pau himself.

If they get another player as well... it could be a good deal. Plus, didn't the Lakers get a PF last year who looked like he had potential. This deal could open the door for him to get more playing time...

After all he maned Howard and Garnett just within three years ago. Something went on in La and they are hiding it and Pau was the most affected.

Pau Gasol is NOT the most skilled big man in the game

yes he is.

he is not the best Scorer ( dirk)
He is not the most dominant ( Howard)
he is not the best rebounder/blocker (howard)
He is the best PASSER
He has the HIGHEST IQ.
He is the best at Handling.
He is a better deffender than Dirk, Bosh, Stou, Zach.

He is top 3 at every of the categorys.

so he is the most well rounder and the most skilled.

Get hsi brain and Skill in Dwights body and you got the best player in the league and would not even be close.

I don't really like this for either side. Pau won't take MIL anywhere and will just leave them in mediocrity (perennial borderline playoff team that gets bounced in round 1). For LA, I think it makes them much worse in the short run. The only good part would be if they got Maggete back they'd have cap space for Dwight if he picks up his player option and becomes a FA a year later than we expect. And they'd have Jennings and the #10 pick.

Howard is a center so most dominant goes to Griffin
Howard is a center so best rebounder/blocker goes to Love(his rebound overshadow blocks)
he doesn't have the highest IQ Aldridge
He doesn't have the best handling Lamar Odom/Corey Maggette/Amare
He is a better defender then ZBO/Amare/Bosh/Dirk - not better then Griffin/Love/Aldridge/Odom

That makes no sense put Pau's brain in Howards body you'd have the best player  how do you plan on making that happen and if you put pau's brain in D12's body you got a version of D12 that's not as good as the real D12

No it woudln't... They already have a franchise center in Andrew Bynum who will get traded only if it is for the best center in the NBA.

How is Bynum a franchise center? The guy rarely played more than 28-30 minutes game because he either fouls like a doofus or is too fragile to play that much. He's a very good player and arguably top 5 at his position but he's hardly a franchise center. Howard is the only true franchise center in the NBA. You could also make a case for Love.

Besides Bogut is a highly skilled player like Gasol. He could play PF next to Bynum.
