This was an a amazing comeback on both sides of the ball. I mean to hold Miami to not hit a ****ing shot outside for Chalmers big 3 is quite amazing. That was like 5 mins of ball and the Heat hit 2 shots.

This was the Finals I was hoping for good game Mavs.

I'm an elated Mavs fan but won't go overboard out of respect for NBA history. I will say this though---even if you call it a Miami choke or an LBJ choke or whatever--if the Mavs don't play their way back into it and fold, we're sitting here talking about how soft they are. There's a lot of credit to their effort.

Kidd, Terry sucked big time

Kidd was terrible, he seemed to have a number of turnovers throughout the game. Terry did however start that Dallas comeback (but outside of that, yeah he sucked lol).

Miami's last couple shots were all 3 pointers, too much hero ball.

Eh, I find no need to get worked up after the game has already ended. When the game is going on, I'll get into it, but now it is just onto the next game. Dallas deserved to win this game, plain and simple. They did not give up and player amazing on offense, but even better on defense. Whoever wins Game 3 when a series is split has won the Finals every time. That being said, I think we win Game 3 and Dallas takes Game 4.

I believe this comeback to be very significant. Miami hadn't lost and nor had they given up a lead liek this int he playoffs. Also jsut the hype surrounding LeBron and Wade, this rly put a new spin on the David vs Goliath perspective. Miami needed to be up 2-0 and Dallas knew that and they turned on the nitrous. Wow! However it is not the best EVER, but in terms of what it means to the emotions....I think Dallas may have just bagged the series tonight. Not saying its over, but if they can carry this mentality and confidence through Miami is screwed.

It wasn't the greatest comeback. The bulls came back from being down 15 pts in the 4th quarter during the 1992 finals to win a title. But, this is definitely one of the great comebacks in nba history. I credit the mavs and the heat for it. The heat definitely made some mistakes, but more so the mavs did everything right. Now we have a series.

Great comeback by the Mavs but also a great collapse by the Big 2 1/2.
5 measly points in the final 6 minutes of the game. Instead of driving it to the rim, Bron and Wade kept trying to shoot fall away jumpers only to be throwing up bricks.

I give the Mavs their credit(mainly Dirk) for making their shots and capitalizing on their opportunities that the Heat gave them.

Not to downplay this "greatest comeback of all time" and "great miracle" and everything, but just to point out that the referees weren't calling ANYTHING against Dallas in that last 6 minute stretch.

On defense I think that Dallas just figured out they had a complete free pass to hit, push, grab, body, whatever, and not get called for any fouls. Seriously, the Heat miss like 17 shots in a row or whatever... no FTs.

There was so much contact, SOOOOOO MUCH CONTACT going on out there. I mean, well, what do you know, it worked out for the Mavs, and now we have the makings of a classic series!

Sorry to be pestimistic... look, if the refereeing is consistent throughout the game, fine. If you call the game such that a touch on the arm while shooting a 20 footer = FTs, fine. Just stick to that, when players are getting whacked upside the head and across the arms and hands later in the game.

I suppose this is all impossible... NBA refereeing is just too complex. And I like to see them "just play". What will really screw up the series, I mean, like *ugggh, c'mon*, change the channel, is if in the NEXT game, they suddenly start off calling every little touch foul. If game 3 has a zillion FTs, or Dirk shoots 20+ FTs, then if nothing else we can say the refereeing is just tooooo freakin' inconsistent.

Mike Oxlong
06-03-2011, 05:12 PM
I don't watch the NBA because it is awful but I will forever laugh at D Wade's 3 pointer with 7 minutes left to win the game and him and Lebron chest bumping like they just sealed it. :laugh2: Yeah, there were 7 minutes left.... Why I don't watch this worthless sport anymore. Hasn't been good since the 90's.

ChicagoJ
06-03-2011, 05:16 PM
I would much rather the refs stay out of it as much as possible. Too many games recently had the refs influence the outcome. Also, the acting/complaining that some of the heat players do at times probably isn't helping them get calls either. All teams do it, but for some reason the heat are standing out recently.

Not really bro...Wade had a lot of help from the refs. In fact, the 2006 finals were the most controversial finals in NBA history. A good amount of non bias sports writers said that Bennett Salvatore deserved the finals MVP that year for the phantom foul call he gave to Wade in game five with only 2 seconds remaining.

http://82games.com/game5refs.htm

http://www.scoresreport.com/2006/06/21/refs-win-first-title/

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/4133/the-salvatore-side-of-the-story-referee-bennett-salvatore-speaks

Wade attempted 97 freethrow attempts in a six game series....this is an NBA finals record for most freethrow attempts. He averaged 16 per game for the series and 18 per game in the final four games that Miami won. Yes, I am not kidding, Wade attempted 73 freethrows in the final 4 games of that series. That is just ridiculous. The 2006 championship that Miami won should have an asterisk next to it saying phantom foul at the end to game five to give Miami a one point lead followed by a phantom time out that didn't let the Mavs advance the ball....97 free throw attempts for Wade....16 per game for the series and 18 per game in the final four games that the NBA gave to Miami. Wade also had 25 FT attempts in game five...the same amount of FTA that the entire Mavs team had that night. The 2006 championship truly belongs to the refs...if Wade had an ounce of honor, he would forfeit his ring and finals MVP because he truly did not earn them.

funny how all the dallas fans think this was the greatest comeback ever, even though there team did the exact same thing against portland. and they had a bigger lead then what miami did.

Btw those miami fans blaming bron though i hate the guy you also have to blame spolstra. I mean why in the hell does he have anthony your best shot blocker out on that play if he is in he throws dirks shot instead he has haslam who is nowhere near the shot blocker. And btw they had a foul to give.

15 points in 7 mins is impressive. A bunch of those leads peaked in the third quarter.

I'm not saying that this was the best comeback ever, but it is up there.

k lakers made up 27 pts in 12 min...dallas made up 15 pts in 6 min, which = 30 pts in 12 min. AND its the finals. so dallas comeback was clearly better

Boston coming back 23 down in game 3 against the lakers in 08 and it sealed the deal on the series IMO
