It's on his non-shooting hand, on the middle finger, don't expect that to slow him down at all. Dirk's a warrior.

I guess Dallas fans can have an excuse now?

I don't doubt his toughness at all, but the splint seems like it may make the ball feel weird in his hands. I expect him to get in the gym and shoot with it for hours tomorrow to get a feel for it

The only reason Miami won tonight is because they purposely injured Dirk. If Dirk was healthy Mavs would have won. *sigh*

Lucky for him its not his dominant hand. I think Kobe has played through this as well. Dirk will be fine. It's not like his shot is blockable.

LeBron: "Dirk is right handed and shoots the ball extremely well. The left hand is just a guide hand-we all know that. It won't affect him."

Dirk missed 1 game with a high ankle sprain at one point......

That is 2 weeks for a normal human

Dirk is a beast. This won't effect him

Dirk wil be A ok (offensively), but as a big man he pretty much have to dwell in the mosh pit and maneuver in the sea of bodies all hacking and swiping with playoff/finals aggression for boards and he'll definitely need to use all 10 digits for that...

Like I mentioned in the game thread, this won't be that big of a deal. Great players get it done despite injury. Kobe's fingers were so messed up over the past 2 championship runs, shooting hand injuries too.... but greats find a way, and Dirk will be fine.

So do people down play the fact that he may have trouble rebounding and playing D...I mean there's not much you can do against Bron and Wade attacking religiously even with bionic hands...I think he may be a little bothered on D but offensively his shot is really unguardable, you just gotta pray he misses.

Yeah, Dirk's shots are impossible to defend almost. Haslem played good D, but lets be real, Dirk was hitting shots he missed today throughout the playoffs. Like you said, it's about him just missing more than anyone stopping him

The play he apparently injured it on was the clean strip of Bosh that they called a foul. But I'm almost positive I saw him messing with it a few plays earlier.

It won't bother his shooting much, but he does a lot of off-hand dribbling when he's operating inside. He's also got some mean lefty lay-ups.

Hopefully it doesn't bother him, he already wasn't shooting that great from the field in game 1.

almost 99% of the time you slash down on an opposing players arms/hands, its called a foul. seldom are they clean with the force of your arm down across the opposing players arms. sure this one might have been but its gonna get called 99% of the time. its not how you're supposed to strip the ball.

Dirk will be fine. He's a shot make, and in injury to his non shooting hand won't stop that.

"He's right-handed. He'll be all right," Heat star LeBron James said of Nowitzki. "He shoots the ball extremely well. That left hand is just a guide hand for all shooters. We all know that. It won't affect him. He's still going to be great. He's still Dirk."

Maybe I'm being a hater but if this was Lebron's injury wouldn't this be a really big deal?

This is a big deal. Dirk was missing a lot of inside stuff last night. I don't remember any And-1s.
