I am watching Mike and Mike and the hosts are picking their starting fives for all time in a mini fantasy draft. My three friends and I just had our own draft and want to get some feedback from people as to who has the best team of the four or any comments about the draft selections.

Order of picks:

1. Michael Jordan (Team A)
2. Bill Russell (Team B)
3. Kobe Bryant (Team C)
4. Magic Johnson (Team D)

7. Larry Bird (B)
8. Shaquille O'Neal (A)

9. Oscar Robertson (A)
10. Tim Duncan (B)
11. Jerry West (C)
12. Elgin Baylor (D)

13. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (D)

16. Charles Barkley (A)

17. Jason Kidd (A)
18. Isiah Thomas (B)
19. John Stockton (C)
20. Kevin Garnett (D)

So here are the official starting fives:

Team A
PG - Jason Kidd
SG- Michael Jordon
SF - Oscar Robertson
PF - Charles Barkley
C - Shaquile O'Neal

Team B
PG - Isiah Thomas
SG - Julius Erving

So far, the people we have asked around here have liked Team C the most. People seem to think they are the most balanced and would play the best together. The slashing ability of Kobe, the shooting ability of West, the Stockton/Malone pick and roll, the most dominant center of all time. Also, a very clutch group at the end of the game with West, Kobe, and Stockton all having ice in their veins. Anyone think any of the other teams beat them?

A lot of the players are out of position. Team A is phenomenal though.

lol at the guy that picked kobe over lebron, magic, and oscar. this is fantasy basketball, not who can take more shots with less assists/rebounds.

Don't know who Jordon is, but with Team "A" Why have Kidd at PG and Oscar at SF? Both are ball handlers. On Team "B" why is Dr J at SG, he wasn't a SG.
On Team C why is Kobe playing SF and have another elite SG with West at the SG?
On Team "D" you have lost your mind. First off, Elgin Baylor in no way shape or form can play SG. It's like putting Barkley at SG. And you have Magic and Lebron on the team both of which need to control the ball to initiate the offense. Magic is not going to be able to play off ball.

I don't see any of these teams meshing well realistically. Maybe C, but Kobe's desire to shoot could potentially derail chemistry.

Just to clarify... this draft was with the goal of getting peoples opinions of which team truthfully would be best on court together and would beat the other teams, not a numbers comparison like fantasy sports.

In terms of some people being off position, we drafted based on which 5 players gave us the best chance to win. This is the fun of the debate. In particular, how do the different athletic abilities/sizes affect the match-ups (ie SF with Robertson, Bird, Kobe, and James. Also, we looked at the differences in the eras, the teams that these people were on when they played which could have affected position, and where they would best fit on the teams they were drafted on in this format. Some guys are particularly versatile based on their size and skill set and were felt could be effective at multiple positions depending on the team.

Lastly, Hakeem was not forgotten. Each team owner considered him, but just did not feel he was the right fit. In particular Team D was going back/forth between Hakeem and Garnett, however just felt Garnett would be more effective with this up-tempo fast-break style with Magic and Lebron.

would love some more feedback, we are having fun with this...
