View Full Version : D'Antoni's last year 2011-2012=Brian Shaw+Dwight Howard+Triangle Offense in 2012

D'Antoni plays out the shortened 2011-2012 season...we win 45+ games but are exposed defensively.

The Knicks hire Brian Shaw as their new coach for 2012-2013 Season. Exciting news that sways Dwight Howard to team up with Amare and Carmelo to form an awesome Huge 3 and the perfect components for the Triangle Offense...a dominant center, a scoring wing, and a versatile pf.

Dwight Howard shores up the middle defensively. Two Titles for the NYK within two years if this happens.

I know cap blah blah, bench blah, blah....feedback on the overall idea of this happening?:clap::clap:

not happening... but while we're playing "speculations without any proof" I was bored and made some myself.

Scenario 1:
Dantoni's contract ends, Phil Jackson misses basketball and regrets retirement. Phil comes back to the Knicks, the team he has an attachment to from his days as a player and to secure a legacy as the King of the three biggest cities in the world (LA, Chi, NY). He wants to run his triangle offense but needs a big man to come to the Knicks to do so. Phil Jackson and Dwight's mentor, Patrick Ewing, convince him to come to the Knicks. Chris Paul fulfills his promise from Melo's wedding and joins the Knicks. Everyone wants to accept less money because the team will be destined to become a dynasty.

Secnario 2:
Nets owner, multimillionaire, and business mastermind, Mikhail Prokhorov is paying the Kardashian family for Kim to date Kris Humpheries. In return the Nets are mentioned in every tabloid magazine and they are able to create a celebrity basketball player out of a guy like Kris Humpheries. Suddenly, celebrities are seen at Nets games and the Nets continue to be seen as competitors with the Knicks.

I would LOL if Shaw went to NY. He deserves better than LA gave him. I bet Dwight goes to LA tho. IMO if I were Howard tho, I would go to either Chicago (if they can afford him), Boston, New Jersey, Clippers, or New York in that order. Chicago would be epic with Rose/Howard and the young core that they have. They would have to trade Noah or Boozer (Boozer lol) and they would be scary good. If he went to Boston, that would begin an era of new winning in Boston with Rondo/Howard, and if Jeff Green can flourish under the C's system then they will have a young big 3. New Jersey already has a good young core of Lopez, Humprhies, James, Farmar, Marrow, and Outlaw. Adding Howard you would have D-Will/Howard combo (which would be INSANE) and a young core. Huge window of opportunity for that team. If Howard were to go to the Clippers, they would have a Big 3 of Howard/Griffin/Gordon The Clippers also have a good young core with D. Jordan, Bledsoe, Farouq Amino, and Foye. If Howard goes to NY, They would have their big 3 in Melo/Howard/Amare, and they would be good for years to come. However, with D'Antoni system, I just dont see him going there. D'Antoni's system will never win, and Howard wants to win. If they can get Shaw then I can see it. Also that would give them a big 3, but lets not forget about Billups. They would be a damn good team. They dont have the young core they once had, but they would have enough star power to succeed.

Not hating on the Lakers, but I dont know if they will keep Gasol. Kobe isnt getting any younger and he cant feel good about being kept of the coach hiring. Dwight will certainly help them, but for how long? If Howard goes to the other places I have mentioned he has a chance to win and win big for 5+ years. If he goes to LA, I see him with a 2 year window before LA has to rebuild around him.

Dwight would never go to NYC if Melo and Stat are already there, those two maybe the two most selfish offensive players in the league...

Whens the last time Amare and Melo passed the ball on the same possession? This is a serious question.

Why not get CP3 too? CP3, Fields, Melo, Amare, Dwight. 6th man: Deron Williams

If you watch all 25+ games they played together that you will see that they pass the ball quite well. Melo stops the ball at times but its not as bad as I thought when we got him. He has 9 assist one game and more then half of them were to Amare. Hell Amare had a career high in assist this year so lets not act like they stop the ball every possession

He isnt saying that both of them are going there, he is saying Option 1 for LA is Howard. If they dont get him Option 2 would be CP3.
