Les needs to just sell the team to someone with common sense

Interesting...

I actually like McHale, but I like Frank more.

He was pretty terrible as a coach before, but his team was awful. Should be interesting.

I like McHale, but he was not the right person for the job.

Just because he was an awful front office guy doesn't mean he'll be a bad coach. We'll have to wait and see.

Wow, Dwayne Casey would have been perfect

He is our defensive assistant that was 2nd after McHale for the job

hahaha, is the title of 'sports broadcaster' just a pseudonym for 'unemployed coach'?

McHale did a decent job in the few games he coached the Wolves. Interesting to see how he'll do on a full time basis.

He coached in the rookie sophomore game. Kudos to the Rockets for getting someone with a ton of experience coaching in high stakes games.

I know he's only their coach now, but he'll find some way to help out the Celtics.

Kevin Martin for a bag of chips?

You can't really tell how bad he is from the past.

He took over mid-season twice for the wolves. Both of those times, the team improved with him coaching.

Wow, I wonder who the Celtics will steal from the Rockets now?

Sign and trade Big Baby for Luis Scola, anyone? haha

I trust Morey as much as anyone, but if this was the owner's call than thats a bad sign.

I dont think Mchale was bad as a coach, im interested in seeing what he'll be able to do with a more veteran laden team with more talent.

McHale is actually a pretty good coach. Players love him, and he gets them to buy in. I still think the Rox could have gone with more of a vetern coach, but McHale is better than he is getting credit for here.

Terrible ****ing decision

I have completely lost trust in Morey, the guy is completely clueless

He got the most out of his players and they loved playing for him. He was FAR from terrible as a coach. Its his managerial/analytical skills I question. Luckily for him he has one of the best GM's upstairs so all he has to worry about is X's and O's

that's exactly right. Each time he took the Wolves over, they improved quite a bit. Without having to worry about GM duties, he should do a pretty good job.

There were a lot better candidates out there than McHale....This is a pretty big downgrade from Adelman.

Exactly, if winning was a real priority, you never get rid of Adelman

Hiring McHale as a holdover coach is useless, everyone knows that Morey is going to hire his guy Finch in the next couple seasons, I dont understand why he doesnt just give him the job now considering the team has close to no expectations next season

Not sure what to say. He has to be a better coach than GM tho...

the way i read the article, assuming they can get out of current contracts, one of/both casey and frank will be assistants (at least one as head assistant). so i can understand the logic. they get the strategy of one of them with the leadership qualities of mchale

Adelman to the Warriors... Brown to the Lakers... McHale to the Rockets. Lawrence Frank to the Pacers? Sam Mitchell...

McHale traded OJ Mayo for Kevin Love on draft night. Think Memphis is happy with that?

He might be decent as a coach, he seems to know his stuff. Remember, not many coaches look good with the T-Wolves

It's amazing to see the lack of knowledge, so called fans have. McHale was a great teacher to the Wolves. They actually improved in terms of consistent wins under him but since they already have a terrible record with like 20 games left in the season, it went unnoticed.

Mchale will probably make the Rockets a tough hard nose team like what Memphis has. He loves that type of basketball.

I have no idea how everyone is gonna get mad over this signing. The only way, it turns terrible is if the Rockets continue to refuse to add bigs.

Quite Honestly, McHale is the only guy who could teach Thabeet how to play basketball.

I guess its a good hire. Adelman was always a offensive minded coach so maybe he gets this scrappy team to focus more on defense

why the hate on mchale the Gm.?

He was a man with a plan and he surely got waht he wanted.

After trading good players for Celtics crap several years in a row he managed to bring them a Ring!!!!!

Oh wait.... you mean you didnt know he was on Ainges payroll to be a Spy in Minnie?

Bill Simmons brought up an good point about this... It's gonna be interesting to see how an old school coach like McHale will function with a front office that is big on the new advanced stats.

lol dude, he was a GM that pretty much screwed our team. Like i said, i would imagine he would be a better coach.
