I think Gibson's putback was better than his over Wade. But of those two, definitely Durant's simply because it was over a taller player.

Gibsons hands down. Gibson had a two handed slam over wade. Wades a smaller defender but he gets up there with the rest of them. Plus durant didnt even dunk it. He threw it in the hoop.

^ Yea he did throw it.

And Gibson's dunk being ON Wade just makes it all the more better.

Gibson, becuase of homer call, and I think Wade actualy thought he could block it and tried. it looked like Haywood gave up half way though and just decided to push him.

Gibson. Easily.

Durants was almost not even a dunk. He did the Blake Griffin and threw it into the basket. and his index or middle finger touched the basket.

Gibson easily.

Both were great dunks. Gibson's probably was more satisfying to watch. Meanwhile, Durant's reach on that dunk was ridiculous, on the replay it looked like one of Dwight's contest dunks.

Durant simply cuz it was one handed. Gibson's was nice but if we're comparing, you have to replace the 2 handed one with his put back cuz it was nicer.

Durant. One handed against a defender that actually had a chance to alter the shot. The Taj Gibson dunk is overrated. He dunked on a stationary DWade (who he has 5 inches on) with a full head of steam and both hands. He SHOULD make the dunk in that situation.

Gibson's was crazy

I would have to say durant's dunk. He dunked over a bigger guy, and did anyone notice how high above the rim he got? As much as I enjoy dwade getting almost t-bagged, I have to go durant.

Then Durant on haywood

Kevin Durant's was absolutely filthy. I pick his. Not taking anything away from Gibson's which was also awesome. But the Durant one was crazy!

KD on Haywood - I know a lot of guys voted Taj on Wade because they hate the Heat, but KD's dunk was clearly more impressive and on a taller player...

PF on a stationary SG or a SF over a 7' center?

Loved 'em both, but that HAS to go to KD. Also a huge momentum builder for them.

I agree. I mean Wade HAS made a career of blocking 7-footers. He's the greatest shot-blocking guard of all-time, so dunking over him is impressive in that sense. But let's not forget that he's 6'4". Given that Wade is a really high profile player on a really hated team, some people understandably enjoyed the Gibson dunk more. Although I think it's clear that Durant's was a higher degree of difficulty, and the fact that it's over a 7-footer makes it even better.

Gibson putback>Gibson over wade>durant over haywood.

Gibson over wade because he put up more of a fight, trying to actually jump to stop him instead of haywood just trying to lay the body on for a foul.

Impressive dunk, but it didn't get me out of my seat like that Gibson putback.

Gibson's, 2 handed and actually a dunk

MTone8788

Durant's was obviously better. Gibson was running full steam and Wade had barely any time to react, while Haywood watched Durant storming in and pushed him and he still scored. Durant's head was also as high as the rim and his arm was almost fully extended while being pushed the other way by a bigger and heavier player.

KD. That dunk gave the Thunder some momentum when they really needed it.

Yeah, but he didn't dunk it... He threw it in?

KD!! He got fouled and was being pushed away from the rim and still got a finger on it and had the ability to still make it.

BUT I love that Taj putback. The one against Wade was just great because it was on Wade.

well according to half of PSD, blakes throwdown over mozgov wasnt a dunk, so if we play those rules durant didnt dunk either, so its easily taj gibson given the options. but imo the best one thusfar was haslem making taj gibson his b!tch last night

KD because his stare afterwards is priceless. He's basically saying "if I wasn't trying to keep my cool so my team can make a run and win this game, I'd rip your throat out Haywood."

I personally love it when players try to draw a charge w/ their feet in the restricted and get dunked on. It's just funnier because they fall afterwards. U gotta respect the effort of someone who tries to contest the shot.....unless they also fall afterwards (i.e. Wade over Varejao (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSA_Di2vliU) :laugh2:)

I voted for Durant because of how high he got and the fact that it was on a guy bigger than him, but man TG's dunk on Wade was about as bad of a posterize as you can get. Both legit.

rapjuicer06
05-20-2011, 09:10 AM
why is it that when wade blocks a big man everyone goes nuts and ask if its the best block of the year? doesn't that make him a good shot blocker? he tried to contest the dunk, and was made a fool in the process. haywood didn't even jump, he just pushed durant a little bit. its taj's imo...

and to the person who said durant would have ripped out haywood's throat...hahahaha idk if durant can even rip paper...

you wikipedia'd it didn't you. if people are saying that Griffin's "dunk' over Mozgov isn't a dunk, this isn't almost a dunk either.

it would have been the better dunk if Durant had got the hand on the rim but he grazed his fingers as he shot the ball into the basket. Taj Gibson had more "oomph!" to it.

Durant: half court set v Gibson: 3-on-1 Fastbreak > Edge Durant
Durant: 6'9" on 7'0" v Gibson: 6'9" on 6'4" > Edge Durant (small guy appreciation only goes one way, i.e. small dunk on a big or small block on a big)
Durant: handles the ball basically the whole play to the dunk v Gibson: gets handed a great setup for the dunk > Edge Durant
Durant: curled running start, takes off about 2.5 feet outside the charge circle v Gibson: straight sprint, takes off about a foot outside the charge circle > Edge Durant

Now if Gibson had done it Tom Chambers on Mark Jackson-style? Maybe I'll change my vote.

And if you actually watch it you'll see that his fingers do touch/grab the rim... it's not Durant's fault he was being shoved the other direction.

i agree with this. except i'd say durant.

i vote for equal because of what i quoted. gibson's looked better and it was over d.wade and his body just pushed its way passed d.wade so he can dunk it.

durant was harder to do, over a bigger defender, and was also a great dunk - i don't care if he threw it in or if his hand didn't touch the rim - that's still a dunk to me. it's stupid when people argue that he threw it in so it's not a dunk as if that'll negate the awesomeness of it.
