View Full Version : Who should land the 1st and 2nd picks?

For the NBA, it'd be best if Washington and Detroit landed the first and second slots.

Derrick Williams and John Wall could be a Durant-Westbrook combination for years to come.

And then Kyrie Irving could follow in Isiah Thomas's and Chauncey Billups' footsteps as the next great Pistons point guard.

Besides that, it would be a good story for the NBA if Cleveland landed the first and second picks with their 2nd and 8th best chances and had Irving/Williams to face LeBron James next year.

Derrick Williams is no where near Durant.
I don't see why the Pistons should get the 2nd pick.

Wiz and Kings. Both teams already have a good young core, getting a top 2 pick will take them to the next level.

It'd be nice to see DET, a storied franchise, somehow get out of the hell they have themselves in. It would take a hell of a lot more than just 1 lucky ping pong ball though.

Seeing as the Suns likely won't get it, my next two:

Sacramento: They would then officially take off into being contenders again.
Washington: They would be able to add Kanter or Williams to a good young core.

Who I'd prefer to see:

Wolves: Pick Irving and trade Rubio to Phoenix
Cavs: Get the rebuilding underway asap.

I think the Cavs MUST get a top 3 pick with one of theirs regardless. They need a building block.

They voluntarily traded away DWill, why would they deserve it more then other teams??

Who I feel should land it?

Cavs and Detroit cause they need it.

But I have a feeling Washington will get 2nd and Cavs get 1st.

All trades are voluntary Utah could have let Deron walk, they made a choice to trade him.

That would be awesome for Detroit to get a top pick and snag Irving, but I'l be content if Biyombo (spelling?) is still available at #7.

These are just who I feel NEED the pick because of there terrible situations.

DET( What a wreck...) Cle( Just wow. ) and CHA ( They need a franchise player bad. )

Now, who I want to see win the selection. DET ( I like when they are a competitive franchise.) An the Kings( Would love to see either Irving/Williams apart of there young core. I really don't wanna see the T'wolves win the lottery because... idk... Sick of them always in the top. Same with Wizards/Raptors.

I think that either Sacramento or Washington will get the first pick. Which ever one of the two doesn't get the first pick will either drop a little or get the number two pick. I would love to see the Cavs get the top two picks in the draft. That would be scary.

So many people saying Detroit, honestly a team that was a berderline Dynasty within the past 10 years does not yet deserve the #1 pick and for everyone to feel bad for them...

For doing what? Keeping the perceived value of an NBA franchise up? Well, as a Warriors fan, I certainly hope we jump into the top 3 to get a shot at Kanter, but I'm not sure I put much stock in conspiracy theories. :(

Prove me wrong, commissioner!

IDK how the wolves shouldnt get a top pick.

because it's rigged. 2 years ago the kings had the highest chance of getting #1 and the worst pick they could get was #4. sacramento is a very small market, so david stern had the kings getting.... yep, u guessed it. the worst possible pick they could get. #4.

How did LA get blake griffin?
How did Chicago get hometown hero Derrick Rose?
How did cleveland get their local guy Lebron?
How did New York get Ewing?

The lottery has no credibility and i would definitely not be surprised if your wolves not only dont get the top pick, but dont get the 2nd pick either.

Nets also got screwed last year with the worst record, and getting only the 3rd pick, and they had the highest chance.

Your right! 4 examples in the last 25 years shows everything! It's rigged (even though the Clippers were 19-63 the year before Blake, and the Cavs were 17-65 the year before LeBron)

Give it to Utah, that'd be sick. They'd get the 2010 3rd pick and the 2011 1st pick for Deron

Well I'm hoping the Bobcats strike out again and continue to suck for a couple more years and then the Bulls can possibly get a top 5 pick in a few years :)

Anyways, even though they are in our conference- think it'd be nice to see Detroit and Cleveland to land a top 3 pick.

Williams
Cousins
