The West better hope the Kings dont get the #1 pick lol.

Kyrie Irving - Tyreke Evans - DeMarcus Cousins - Marcus Thorton + a **** load of CAP space is amazing for the Kings. If they don't they will prolly end up getting Brandon Knight, who will also jack up that lineup.

Also, the Wizards getting Derrick Williams is also scary.

John Wall - Derrick Wiliams - Jordan Crawford - Nick Young + a lot of CAP space after next year. Could be major candidates for Howard...

I actually think Brandon would fit them well cuz Tyreke is more of a point and Knight is a scoring guard..... I dont think Kemba would mesh good tho

If Irving maxes out his potential he can be the next great playmaker. Tyreke will thrive with some creating offense for him. Tyreke being able to also play point is a perk, but shouldn't handicap him and Irving co-existing. I think it would work perfectly.

But yea, Knight would work well too.

Well, either Crawford or Young would have to come off the bench, but Williams and McGee is pretty solid for the 4/5 spots, so if you put Rashard/Howard at SF, you'd have pretty good length.

The problem is Derrick Williams's wingspan isnt that great and hes not known for being a low post defender. If anything he might end up as a 3 depending on who takes him.

So true.

2012 is the deepest draft since 2008, which is why it wouldnt surprise me to see some teams selling their picks by the time we get past the 10th pick. This is much like the 2000 NBA Draft, you're basically drafting a bunch of role players after Kyrie Irving.

At the same time history tells us that there will be a steal who becomes an All Star player found somewhere in the late 1st/2nd Round. My gut feeling tells me that guy is Iman Shumpert, but it could go either way.

I guess its safe to say you know your draft is bad when 6 International Prospects are going in the Lottery. With only 2 players(Tristan Thompson- Canada/Texas & Enes Kanter-Turkey/Kentucky) even being a sure thing to play this season in the NBA.

The only reason those guys came back was due to the looming lockout.

Why come out this year and not get paid or potentially not even play a NBA season when you can come out in 2012 and raise your stock, get paid, and play a NBA season.

Its why the decisions of guys like Joseph, Selby, & Richmond are puzzling because the dudes could literally have all elevated their stocks next season into borderline Lottery range. Thats much better than going Round 2 and spending time in the NBDL.

Not really a clear picture though. Because players like T.Jones, P.Jones, Sullinger, and Barnes all decided to return to college boosts the draft stocks of anyone who declares this year. I do think all the guys you mentioned will get drafted in the first round this year because it has turned into such a weak draft. With new competition entering the NCAA, and high pedigree returning players, the players you mention could hurt their draft stock by returning for another year. There are pro's and con's to each decision.

I'm hoping for the Kings and Wizards to go 1 & 2. Both teams will be relevant and scary in less than 3 years. Im seriously sick of kahn jokes. Like honestly, the dude has made this team into a team with young and upcoming players. One thing that i know he struggles with is drafting, thats why he brought in Ronzone to help the guy out. Rubio-Wes-Beasley-Klove-? with a top pick/AR who showed alot of potential when he came here/Ridnour to help out Rubio and FA's that we get looks like a very nice young lineup. If we get Dwill, than i assume Beasley moves to 6th man and Dwill takes over at the 3. We could also trade the top pick for a nice vet. I wouldnt mind that either. Just because we arent talking about the wizards doesnt mean you have to bash what people say about the team we are hoping for after the draft ends.

I want Williams. I'm pretty comfortable with Stuckey. He finished the season pretty dominant and I'm hoping that carries over into next season. Can't speak for the rest of the Pistons fans. Would I be disappointed with Kyrie? Hell no. Honestly, I just want a player with decent upside to root for.

6. John Hammond, Milwaukee Bucks: The Bucks general manager has made plenty of fantastic moves in his tenure with the team (although last year was a bit of a disaster area). He's done a good job finding value, and even if he doesn't improve his team's chances of landing a top pick, he figures to find some good value whenever his team picks.

5. Joe Lacob, Golden State Warriors: The Warriors' new owner is returning from a safari in Africa for this, showing he's got his priorities in order. Plus, Lacob has built a truly entertaining club to watch, and deserves a bit of luck to find himself another star.

4. Greg Monroe, Detroit Pistons: The Pistons' first overall pick last season, Monroe turned out to be quite a great pick, emerging as a force in the low post. Hopefully, he can parlay that kind of luck into a higher pick this season, because, let's face it, the Pistons could sure use a high pick.

3. John Wall, Washington Wizards: The first overall pick last season, the Wizards' star represents the luckiest break this perennial lottery contender has ever gotten from the ping pong balls. The team clearly hopes he can bring them a bit more luck this season as well.

2. Kevin Johnson, Sacramento Kings: If the Kings were represented by either of the Maloofs, they'd be in the bad luck category, but the city's mayor is one of the luckiest team reps around. Why? Simple; he managed to convince the NBA to leave the Kings in Sacramento.

1. Nick Gilbert, Cleveland Cavaliers: The 14-year-old son of Cavs' owner Dan Gilbert, Nick is bringing some seriously good karma to the draft. Nick was born with Neurofibromatosis, a condition that causes tumors to grow anywhere on the body, and will walk across the stage to help promote awareness of the condition. Hopefully, he'll help the Cavs find some good luck in this year's lottery, since this team could sure use it.

To me the Cavs idea is kind of a sap move to me. I feel bad for the kid but it dosn't make me feel bad for the cavs

The wolves need good draft help, but they really did tank. Also, Kevin love missed the rest of the season for a groin injury? just Because the wolves arent making the playoffs, doesnt mean he has to miss that much of a significant time. Dont get me wrong, resting injuries is nessary but he took extended time because kahn said that these injuries are nagging? Thats why. Tanking = What Houston did in 1984 for Hakeem Olajuwon

That was what established the Draft Lottery the following year to keep crappy teams from tanking with the sole purpose of pairing together amazing draft prospects to form a potential super team.

If there was no Draft Lottery, I can 100% guarantee you that there would be 1 or 2 teams who purposely did that to obtain great prospects rather than even attempting to win. Yes, that means playing your stars for 5 minutes and giving 35 minutes to a scrub like Brian Cardinal or Alonzo Gee.

What would prevent Minnesota for attempting to acquire Irving in 11, Barnes in 12, and then Drummond in 13?

I don't really like anyone's potential to be a star in this draft, but I'd take Derrick Williams over him if he got a consistent 20 ft jumper.

And my super sleeper this year is Josh Selby. I followed him in HS, and he was MUCH better than Kyrie in HS. Selby is definetly a sleeper. He got so much heat for a freshman season in which he had no role on that team in Kansas, he should've never even went there there.

My sleeper is Iman Shumpert. Big PG with a good handle, very athletic, and has a developing jumper. Already an impact defender who can guard both G positions.

Dont believe the NCAA hype. Hes going to be a role player capable of giving you some athletic dunks, but hes not going to average 20+ PPG. Hes a tweener Forward without a polished Face Up game.

Michael Beasley is 2x the player Williams is, and his offensive game is among the best in the NBA at the Forward position. There is a reason he was frequently compared to Carmelo in HS, unfortunately Beasley never outgrew the tag of being lazy. He also never learned how to pass either.

I also feel Iguodala will be dealt to a "loser" in the draft. I.E 6-11ish pick. If Thorn wants to go the youth route.

Rationally speaking, shouldn't there only be 6 or 8 teams in the lottery. Do the teams that just missed out on the playoffs really have any business getting a chance, albeit a small one, at the #1 overall pick?
