View Full Version : Who are you missing in the playoffs right now?

There have already been some very talented players knocked out, and a number of future HOFers (Boston, SA, LA all have more than one HOF lock on their teams), and even more talent are hoping the ping pong balls drop in the right order for their team. I for one am happy to see some new blood pushing deep into the playoffs. I've enjoyed watching Rose and the Bulls, and I have even been enjoying watching Miami in the open court, and I am happy to see Dirk and the Mavs on the cusp of a finals appearance.

But the NBA has some talented players that are sadly not on display in the post season right now, so I was just curious who you all wished was in, or still in the playoffs and WHY?

I'm honestly not missing anything (besides my own team, obviously). I think both these match ups are good.

Chicago v Miami is great for the league. Young teams full of stars and great defenses.

Out west, I feel like OKC is a very likable team with a player the NBA desperately wants to be the face of the league. Dallas is a really good team with a strong following. That series will be great.

The league would much rather LA be around, but whatever. I for one love the new blood. 4 new teams in the conference finals is awesome to me!

Deron Williams and Blake Griffin both must see basketball players missed the playoffs. Deron is arguably the best PG in the game and Blake is the most electrifying player in the game. I REALLY hope next year those 2 are in.

I wanna see Golden State in the playoffs.

As far as usual suspects I miss watching: Manu Ginobli is probably the top of my list.

What would be a less boring ECF?

From Boston, I'm missing Rondo (for the hussle and passing and tripple doubles), from LA, I'm missing watching Odom and Gasol together (their interior passing is a thing of magic), SA, I'm missing the guys who make the extra pass, and I'm kinda missing Anderson Varajoa (for all his hussle), Stephan Jackson (for the wya he takes over games), Chris Andersen (for his hair, tatoos and blocks), Kevin Love (for the missed-free-throw handshakes) blake Griffen (I jsut miss seeing him on the highlights in the morning on the recap) and I kinda would have like to see JaVale McGee swatting away some of those guys coming up through the lane.

As a basketball fan... I'm missing the Lakers.

Lakers/Thunder Part II would have been a lot more exciting to me than Mavs/Thunder.

I agree.

I think for the league, the best would have been

Lakers/Thunder
Bulls/Heat

No disrespect to the Knicks, Spurs, Celtics or Mavs.

The Nets, Vince Carter, Steve Nash, and Grant Hill. I believe the Suns had a chance to make some noise in the Playoffs, and Nash and Hill are in their late 30s, and tried so hard to make it. I want them to win the championship.

I think the fact that most people, besides LA fans, would be rooting against them would make it a better series than having Dallas here

Easily Steve Nash... It doesn't feel right not watching him at this time of year. I wish Phoenix could've made it this year.

I need some Nash in the playoffs.

Its not bold at all. Deron Williams made it in the tough west with a team of scrubs. Not only that but he even reached the west finals. Do you honestly not see him making it in the east?

A few of those scrubs you speak of now play with the Bulls who are currently up 1-0 in the ECF. Im going out on a limb here and say the scrubs Williams had in Utah are better then the scrubs he has now in Jersey.

u mean for like 2-3 years as opposed to 6-7 years suns and lakers went at it reg season and playoffs kobe putting the lakers up 3-1 in 06 playoffs then tim thomas 3 in l.a to win the game. Or how bout this season suns 22 3pt hits to tie franchise record in win at staples or the triple over time thriller lakers win. . .how bout that crazy series last year gm 5 suns down 18, jrich banks 3 to tie game then kobe airballs artest rebounds and makes himself a hero after almost loaing the game. . .how bout game 3 where the suns bench blew up. . .or game 6where vujacic almost cost the lakers the series. . .or simply those 2 mvps that shoulda been kobes(at least in his mind) in 05 and 06. So many different players and story lines
Nash vs kobe(kobe posterized him)
Amare vs la bigs
Hill/dudley/bell vs kobe
Mike d/gentry vs phil
Goran dragic vs vujaci(last year)
Shaq vs kobe(for one year)

No one player or teams in particular (other than my own), but rather, those classic one-on-one playoff duels when it's all on the line. 'Nique vs Bird, Iverson vs Vince, Lebron vs Pierce, etc. Hopefully, Dirk and KD put on a show like that in the WCF.
