Even when I dunk or get a big block, I'm not that expressive on the court, I have a much calmer demeaner... Some guys like to scream though, I never cared for it.

DodgerBulls
05-16-2011, 02:27 AM
Well back then it was all about taunting, talk smack and gazing can be seen anytime. But now, you will be slapped with a technical foul so you really don't see anyone doing it anymore.

I sometimes do it when I hit a contested big 3 pointer or I get fouled when driving inside and made the basket. It gets you pump up and your teammates. Most of the time, it just comes out naturally. It always makes you feel that you are better than your opponents. This happens to me usually when i'm playing in a league, rather than just a pick up game.

Well, then your timing is awful. The reality is that it has been going on for a while, so asking this thread after a Bulls player did it is going to raise questions even if that was not your intent.

Regardless, the screaming doesn't really bother me. And I suppose it makes more sense for Taj to scream after making the dunk than it does that Wade did not scream after getting teabagged.

Maybe you shouldn't watch sports at all then. It's called emotions. Some hold it in, some express it. Some do it with class while some dance in the sidelines. It's part of the game man. I'm sure you would scream like a savage beast if you ever dunk on Wade.

I don't like when dudes start screaming after uncontested dunks. For reference, you should get to scream when you pull off:

- Starks lefty on Bulls
- Jordan spin baseline then jam on Ewing
- Wade spin baseline two-hander on Perkins
- Bron on the Pistons

Basically, any dunk where there was a probability of injury to you.

I was gonna say that they get to scream after huge blocks too, but I prefer the Mutombo-method on those.
- Any little man on big man dunk (BD on AK, CP3 on Dwight, KJ on Hot Rod)

It's even more annoying when they yell like idiots after blocks. I thought a perfect comparison between a real player and a soft player was in the Boston/Miami series. KG had a nice block and didn't celebrate, and he maintained possession for his team. The very next play, Bosh makes a block but hits it out of bounds so his team can't get possession, and he yells like an idiot. It pisses me off.

in the NBA when it was actaully a contact sport and not all about showmanship some players probably knew if they did it, they had a hard foul coming, those were the days....

your team does it all the time. i've seen lebron do it many times, i'd rather see that then all the fake injurys someone gets when they get slapped on the wrist... players lay on the floor for five minutes milking there foul...cough wade cough... or lebron james crying on one knee for winning a second round playoff series.....those are the emotions a player should hide.

in the NBA when it was actaully a contact sport and not all about showmanship some players probably knew if they did it, they had a hard foul coming, those were the days....

your team does it all the time. i've seen lebron do it many times, i'd rather see that then all the fake injurys someone gets when they get slapped on the wrist... players lay on the floor for five minutes milking there foul...cough wade cough... or lebron james crying on one knee for winning a second round playoff series.....those are the emotions a player should hide.

god its gonna be so good when the heat fail, thats twice this year they celebrated like they one a title, for no reason... its gonna be really embarressing.

i never said it was ok for "[my] team" or any team.
show me where i did.

What a surprise, a Heat fan started this (in reaction to Taj Gibson, no doubt). I hope he knows that Bosh does it even more than Taj.

It originated with Shaq's phantom scream when he dunked to win the game in the movie Blue Chips.

But no one has gotten it completely correct, because only Shaq can apparently scream with his mouth closed...

this is how you should act after a monster dunk... No screaming... No pumping your chest... Just pimp walking...

:facepalm::facepalm: Its just natural instinct after doing something amazing, some players show more emotion than others it not a big deal.

Its funny that this came out after Taj did it and a Heat fan complains or doesnt like it. Kind of ironic that most heat fans have the pictureof all 3 heat players screaming and looking like "savages" in their sigs. Isnt it ironic, dont ya think

Exactly where I was going, thank you. Honestly if "u mad" is the only thing you can add to the conversation please just read the threads and move along.

How did I insult you? Did I say anything about Canada? You sure had no problem stereotyping me... sheesh.

You may have healthcare but I think the education system has a way to go. BTW, that was an insult -- BRO.

U mad is the equivalent of lol. It means you have nothing relevant to add to the conversation.

I did it when I was in high school. You really can't help it especially if you're in front of a big home crowd.
