View Full Version : Third Round Predictions

Oklahoma City Thunder defeat Dallas Mavericks (4-2): I always like to go with the best player on the floor, unless the team he is going up against is superior in every other aspect of the game. Westbrook is better than Kidd, Harden is as good as Terry right now, and Durant is better than Dirk. The bigs on Dallas can handle the Thunder relatively easily. I see this being a very high scoring series, but one that will go in the Thunder's favor. Unless the jitters get to this young team, the Thunder will be going to the NBA Finals.

Miami Heat defeat Chicago Bulls (4-0): The Heat shock the world and have Lebron guard Rose. They sweep. Even if they don't, Bosh may be soft but Boozer isn't far behind. In a battle of the two, i'd take Bosh. Noah will be a non-factor. Lebron is way too good, Wade is way too good, and the Bulls no longer have the best player on the floor. Arguably, they have the third best player on the floor. James Jones = Kyle Korver, essentially, and the way the Heat defense is shutting down penetrating point guards, I would be concerned. Sweep.

Here are my round 2 predictions:

I truly believe these. I can explain:

1. Dallas Mavericks defeat the Los Angeles Lakers (4-0) - Lakers looked old, tired and out of it. Kobe cannot carry them passed a very balanced Mavs team. Chandler can contain Bynum. Sorry Laker fans.

2. Oklahoma City Thunder defeat the Memphis Grizzlies (4-2) - More Talent on OKC.

3. Atlanta Hawks defeat the Chicago Bulls (4-1) - This was before Hinrich was hurt. Hinrich can contain Rose. Outside of that, I just prefer the Hawks to the Bulls. I'm not sold on the Bulls after watching them play the Pacers. The Hawks look great.

4. Miami Heat defeat the Boston Celtics (4-0) - Heat are younger and better. Sweep.

Right

Right (off by a game)

Wrong (Though to be fair, Hinrich didn't play)

Right (off by a game)

Just because I'm not on the Bulls bandwagon doesn't mean you get to be a dick.

This is a third round predictions thread. We had a second round predictions thread. Why is this all of a sudden a problem? You predict games before teams play. It's how it goes.

my prediction: Westbrook realizes that playing the way he did in game 7 against memphis is best for the team and averages 10+ assists while taking less that 20 fga's per game. If he can do that, the thunder have a chance. Maybe just wishful thinking.

Thought you were one of those posters spouting hate but after reading your 2nd round post I change my mind. Sorry about that

Dirk Nowitzki teaches the young pup Kevin Durant that he has quite a ways to go to be on his level. Dirk averages 30 ppg 12 reb, 2.5 ast, 1.2 blk, 1 stl, 2 3's a game shooting 53% FG, 45% 3pt, and 93% FT. Mavs win series 4-2.

I would be concerned if I was making stupid predictions like this one, LeBron has all the talent, but no heart.

I'm sure a 20 point win was just a fluke, like sweeping a season series

Does anyone think that this Bulls - Heat series may end up being the most lopsided conference finals in recent memory?

The Bulls seem to match up perfectly against the Heat, especially defensively. (A 4-0 season record against the Heat helps prove that)

I'm kind of expecting a sweep... Even IF the Bulls are underdogs. What do you guys think?

No. People need to stop with these stupid knee-jerk reaction threads. I had a feeling a thread like this one or one along the lines of "Panic time for the Heat??" would show up.

Hell no, and don't start crap like this. I just felt we knew we needed game 1 because we couldn't fall behind like last series.

Stupid post, so many people hate on bulls fans because of dumb posts like that. Good win. Tomorrow is another day and Heat are too good of a team to think this is going to be easy.

Each round everyone has doubted Dallas. First Portland was guaranteed to upset us. Then LA was guaranteed to sweep us. Now Oklahoma City is clearly going to win? Keep doubting. And Dirk is better than Durant still btw.
