Robert Horry is no scrub, Jamal Crawford would be lucky to get Robert Horry's autograph not to mention his type of career.

Getting your own shot is a tool, not a game. Basketball is a team game played on both ends of the floor.

Kevin Love. The most dominant rebounder in the NBA for a long time, yet his lack of athleticism and his lack of a team makes his talent overlooked. If anything, the mediocre team he is on should just strengthen his greatness.

Did you start watching NBA games in 2006?

Also people like Klove have a huge internet/twitter/cult following (See his Right Guard/ESPN commercial)

And people go gaga over deng

TBH not many (if any) starters are really underrated, because when your constantly called that, you start getting overrated

On PSD, yes mostly because people refuse to accept his potential to be the best pure PG (aka not magic or the big O) in the history of the NBA.

On the more respected places (hell even some parts of ESPN) refer to him a god who needs a better team.

Eh, maybe though because TBH I tend to only really follow scout's news and stuff not the talking heads

Have you been living under a rock? You've gotta be kidding me, Kevin Love is properly rated. Have you not seen the amount of love that hes been getting by the national media? I don't know how becoming an All-Star despite the team being really bad can mean that the person is underrated.

Terrible list. Danny Granger is definitely not underrated. Hes made the AS game a few times and is actually overrated. Tyson and Iggy both made defensive teams so don't see how they're overrated.

BTW you might want to ask Rashard how much he makes... an underrated player wouldn't make that much.

Excuse me while I mount my horse, but yes Jrue is definitely way overlooked. I really wanted the Knicks to draft him that year. He's going to be special.

Now for my horse: I think it's funny that several guys mentioned here either were or could (Eric Gordon)/should (Jrue) have been Knicks if it hadn't been decided to blow up the team. Jamal (though I wouldn't say he is the most underrated), ZBo, Gallo. If we hadn't blown up the team we could esily have had a team, with no other moves whatsoever (and there needed to be some) of Zbo, Lee, Gallo, Wilson Chandler, QRich, Jared Jeffries, Jrue, Duhon, Crawford, N8 Robinson.

While I like Gallo, I always figured that if Isiah was drafting (and for all his faults he did usually draft well) his most likely pick would have been Eric Gordon (though I could see him being torn by Anthony Randolph and Gallo).

In the latter case, a small situational team of Zach. Lee, Jrue, Eric Gordon and Jamal would have been a hell of an offensive team.

As I say, oh well. Dolan now has the two names that allow him to raise ticket prices, and while we have nothing else at the moment, we can dream of a third.

But to add to Jrue I'd have to add Bogut (when he's healthy), ZBo (still gets too much undeserved hate, even if I can understand those who say he has been getting too much love of late), Jason Terry, and while it may seem odd, Paul Pierce. I'd add David Lee to the list too, but I can understand that that will have to wait until next year for anyone to understand it.

while Gallo had an off shooting year, if you watched enough of him play to make an informed comment you'd realize he attacks the bucket ferociously and is one of the best in the NBA at getting to the line.

I think his 3 is actually overrated, as is his shooting overall, not to say he isn't good. But yes, his drives are underrated, though I have to say he shows a tendency to drive for the foul rather than for the score itself. He does have generally admirable qualities to his game, and I expect his shooting to get more consistent since he does have good form, but right now you still have to read in a lot of potential to say that he's underrated.

did someone really insert rose into this conversation? it never ceases to amaze me...

lowry -- surprised more people aren't saying him. guy is a gutty defender, adequate floor general and made MASSIVE improvements to his offensive game this year. also earned a clutch reputation this season.

thornton -- simply put, the guy scores in bunches when he gets the chance to play. a bit undersized, and not a great defender, but he is an elite scorer in the league. also displayed clutch tendencies this year.

deng -- a "popular" underrated pick here which sort of defeats the purpose, but still, it's true that he is overlooked. the bulls lack sufficient offensive firepower without him in the rotation

taj gibson -- i'll put it to you this way, at this moment i think he's a better player than carlos boozer and that it's not really that close. he is an excellent defender and his activity level/decent jumper make him an offensive threat. great glue guy.

chuck hayes/nene -- two very different players, both underrated. hayes is probably the most skilled defender in the league considering the production he gives at his size. as for nene, i think he could be a 20/10 guy or close if he was earnestly given the opportunity (and stayed healthy)

couple bulls, couple rockets, a king and a nugget. really think lowry is the most underrated of this bunch, though.
