Im sorry dude but he is more of an impact player than Gasol and Amare.

Neither guy holds an edge over him on defense since each are average/mediocre defenders.

if Marc Gasol goes down you will see how "good" zachs defense is.

This. People are underrating what Marc Gasol does. Gasol might be a top 5 C in the league right now.

PS: Don't like ur sig though. Ronaldo is the best.

In the playoffs, yes, for sure.

But overall, no.

If he keeps it up all next season, and Pau continues to play like he did this postseason, then yeah, I'd bump him up.

So wait, who's the best iyo?

& no mention of Dirk by anyone? What about what he's doing?

He actually shot quite poorly the last 2 games.

i think this is important to remember to some extent. zbo is able to thrive because gasol (and allen, battier ect.) are there to cover up his deficiencies. but yes marc is proving just how great a player he is and will start to get his respect. doesn't mean randolph isn't great, though.

at this moment the pf spot is in quite a flux. top 3 mainstays like kg and duncan are old. gasol and bosh both need to seriously be reevaluated as talents after this season/postseason (presuming pau wasn't injured). dirk is the CLEAR best at his position for maybe the first time ever. and you've got upstarts like love, aldridge and griffin looking to claim a stake in the pecking order. amare is the one guy who you could argue, imo, but i'd rather have zbo because he rebounds and tries on d (at this moment)

again, at THIS EXACT MOMENT...i could really only take dirk over randolph in good faith. zbo has proven to be unstoppable on the block and passable on a good defensive team. all of those other guys have question marks now, and he really doesn't. which is mind-blowing to even type considering his past. not the guy i'd start a franchise with due to age and athletic ability, but if i was building a one and done tournament team starting now, he's number 2 on my list.

Dirk is the clear #1 which is why he's not mentioned here.

Nobody mentioned Dirk because it's very obvious that he's the best PF in the game.

To answer your question though; No Zach Randolph is not the 2nd best PF in the NBA. Or the 3rd, or the 4th etc. Top 10 without a doubt, but he's not elite like your Dirks, Paus and Amares.

I'm still cheesed at the fact that everyone sees how sick he is now that the redraft is over.

A team of

C-Marcin Gortat
PF-Zach Randolph
SF-Grant Hill
SG-Manu Ginobili
PG-Darren Collison

is not 13th place in the East IMO

^ I remember that lol. Still would want a better C, but thats playoff material.

Lol go check the NBA Re-Draft forum bro.

But Gortat's not too bad. 13 PPG, 9.3 RPG and 1.3 BPG in 29.7 mins as a Suns. Pretty good defensively too.

did someone realize that zachs 9-25 today LOST the Grizzlies the game?
Mayo and Marc were doing it better but he kept chuking.

THATS why he will NEVER be a top Pf or player no matter if he AVERAGES 5000 POINTS A GAME.

I like Randolph, but at the end of the day, he's a chucker. He's the PF version of Antoine Walker. He lost Game 4 for Memphis with his rushed, akward, off-balance shots.

Pau Gasol is not one of the best center's hell look at his defense when Bynum was down so its no different if Randolph didnt have Marc

Randolph IS better than Gasol... I dont see why people have him so high

Mile High Champ

Yes Randolph is playing some terrific basketball at the moment, though I don't think he is a top two PF in this league. While his offensive game has continued to shine and his defense has improved somewhat, he still lacks the defensive talent to be regarded as an elite talent at his position.

Dirk
Amar'e
Gasol
Blake Griffin
Aldridge
Bosh
Kevin Love
ZBO

Any of those guys would do well with Marc Gasol, I also don't take away from the Memphis Coach he has done a good job at keeping those guys in the moment.

I dont understand the necessity by everyone on this forum to rank everything. Why can't he just be a very good PF, just like Gasol is a very good PF, Amare is a very good PF, Bosh is a very good PF, etc? Depending on the system and who they have on the team with them, each one of them could play better than the other. Its all about the situation.

If he averaged 5,000 points a game he'd definitely be the best PF in the league.

They guy's numbers arent that much off his career lines really. He has pretty much always been close to this good, its off court stuff that has followed him around.

And it is PSD, the bandwagon gets full really quick. And then as soon as the same player everyone is juicing up starts to play poorly, they hop off the Bandwagon, and jump on the hate train.

Some days he is. I still wouldn't pick him on my team over Gasol or Amare (or Bosh). When Randolph is motivated and controlled he can certainly outplay those PF's, but his reputations didn't come from thin air. I would much rather trust a long contract to Gasol, Amare or Bosh than Randolph due to this factors. I think all three of those PF's can succeed in more situations than Zach.

Thats because you're a MAvs fan and you already know DIrk is number 1. :p

Kidding aside, its because everyone hates everyone else.

Super.
