The chances of Rose going off like he did last game are slim, but i hope he does. :D

If we want to come out with the win, its going to be more of a complete team effort. I look for the hawks to put alot of pressure on Rose.

This would be a clincher... I expect a maximum effort from the Hawks, it's going to take a big effort to hold them off.

DaBear
05-08-2011, 02:12 AM
I'm expecting the Hawks to play more physical, and the Bulls taking advantage of it. Rose needs to go to the line more. Deng needs to show up, as well as Boozer. Noah will have more than a FG. I have a feeling the Hawks will just be targeting Rose the whole game, leaving Korver, Bogans, and Deng with some open looks.

Deng goes for 30

when was the last time Deng really went off and had a game above his average? feels like forever

Go Bulls.

I find it hard that they allow Derrick Rose to have his way like last game without some hard fouls or at least just crowding the paint.

This should be a big game and probably the most important for the Hawks to really stay in this series.

Kind of shocked you pick the Hawks. I know it would be hard to root for the Bulls for you but, wouldn't you want us to win so we can face each other in the ECF. I know I am pulling for the Heat so if we do win we can face them.

I think Bulls take this one again but Rose WILL NEED HELP!!!! If Deng and Booz can have a good game we should win. I expect Atlanta to come out with some intensity so the Bulls have to set the tone early.

It's a put up or shut up game for the Booz, if he comes out struggling Taj will get more and more minutes throughout the playoffs. Anyways I expect the same thing as last game, Rose will probably only get 30 this game but Deng and Boozer will have better games.

Im expecting another blowout for the Bulls....

Derrick will get his but Deng and Boozer will pitch in this game with Taj Noah KK and Brew doing their thing like last game.

I also see the Bulls shutting down all three Hawks stars today including JJ, Jamal, and definitely Teague....Bulls will make the defensive adjustment for Teague tonight and he will get shut down.

After he got his way in the first quarter, we pretty much shut him down the rest of the game. I only remember him taking long jumpers in the second half.

I have a feeling this is gonna be a close game in the 80s or low 90s. With the winning team hitting the clutch shots late. Hopefully the Bulls can pull it out and take a commanding lead on the series. Other wise it could be a long series and then anything could happen(especially if Hawks players have hot shooting games again). While if the Bulls win tonight, I like their chances of finishing off the Hawks in one of the next two games and winning this series in 5 or 6. If the Hawks win were already going 6 games, and I wouldn't be shocked if it goes 7. So this is a important game for this series and I expect it to be a dogfight.

PurpleJesus28
05-08-2011, 01:52 PM
i think this ones gonna be a close one but the bulls prevail in the end. the hawks have shown that they can show up and play with intensity and energy for some games, and i think this is one where they do. i mean, they have to show some pride after getting completely and utterly whomped on their home court last game right?

bulls consistency still scares me a bit though. we've seen em play a couple great games, and we've also seen em play a couple god awful ones. if we come out with intensity and energy on the defensive side and get the hawks shooting bad shots early i think we can kill the hawks morale.

heres to hoping we've hit our stride at the right time!

It's amazing the Bulls are still this good with Keith Bogans as their starting 2..

If they can pick up a decent SG with the MLE, they are going to be a dynasty.

MJ-BULLS
05-08-2011, 03:37 PM
I dont know about a dynasty. but yes, it has been awesome that we have been this good with Bogans as our starter considering the fact that we were the worst in production at the SG position in the regular season.

If we had a real SG, that would be bonkers.

Bogans has actually been playing great in the post season.

He's averaged 5.3 points in 18.9 minutes per game with good defense and good 3 point shooting (48.3%). But I'd hesitate to say he's playing great. I would say he's playing his role great, however. But with a better SG, we could ask more of them and get more out of them.

If they can pick up a decent SG with the MLE, they are going to be a dynasty.

Yeah that's going to be their goal this offseason I'm sure. Considering all their top core players are under contract for next season. So it's not like they have to resign people or replace people really. Even Bogans contract for next year is non guaranteed. So they could release him and use that cap space trading for a SG as well. IMO I think either they will let Bogans go or trade Brewer to create cap space to add a SG in a trade. With Jason Richardson being the top guy they probably target in free agency and probably a guy like OJ Mayo again in a trade. Especially when you consider the Bulls have some decent trade chips, with draft picks(2 in 2011 and future Bobcats pick) and players like Taj or Asik. So either way I expect the Bulls too add more scoring to improve the offense next season. That's why it's exciting to be a Bulls fan, because they will probably be better next season. Especially if Rose continues to improve as well. That said it's a bit unfair to put the SG position all on Bogans. He may start, but Brewer and Korver play more minutes in that spot. So Thibs has more of a platoon in that spot, that he goes with based off match ups and the right mix on the court together.

I loved reading about Rose breaking his right arm as a kid. His brother's were supposed to bring him to therapy everyday. He went once, the other times his brothers brought him to the basketball court where he played left handed-which is where he developed his left-handed dribble and layup ability.

I think Rose gets 25 points left handed alone tonight

You're right, how dare he say that a team with top level defense, a young nucleus almost all signed and a solid star could win multiple championships (which is all a dynasty really is) with one more piece.

Yea because a decent SG can make them a dynasty lol. Isn't Bogans playing decent in the playoffs yet the Bulls aren't playing that great? Please...

The only thing that can make them a dynasty is if they get a better PF that doesn't get injured every 3 games and a good SG

And that's ridiculous RunKiller. Are you insane? Over for everyone lol?

Jason Collins will start Game 4 for Atlanta vs. Chicago.
Coach Larry Drew has chosen to go with his "big" lineup for the all-important Game 4 and his team trailing by a 2-1 margin. Hopefully for the Hawks, Collins can help to combat Joakim Noah's length down low. Rotoworld

Bogans is playing decent in the playoffs for Bogans standards. He's still a SG that can't dribble, can't create his own shot and is a massive liability on offense at a position where offense is usually a necessity.

Take the Bulls production from SG up just a notch ~12ppg, and you likely take pressure off Rose to create everything. Bogans was easily the worst starting SG in the NBA this year.

And you can bash Boozer for his playoffs, but he put up his career averages this season, I'll take that every year of his contract and be fine. He's doing what the Bulls needed-which was to add a threat down low.

Oh sorry, so that you read my entire post, I suppose I should say "Go Heat" in it or something.

(Btw, the Bulls aren't playing great this postseason and are still 6-2..which is...umm...on pace with their 62-20 regular season)

Oh sorry, so that you read my entire post, I suppose I should say "Go Heat" in it or something.

(Btw, the Bulls aren't playing great this postseason and are still 6-2..which is...umm...on pace with their 62-20 regular season)

You're right what was i thinking..... Add a player that can dribble the ball, create his own shot, AND get 12 point a game!!! :speechless: Its over indeed.

Considering their current SG situation lacks that, it's a major piece missing in the opening lineup.

Bogans didn't have an unassisted shot until nearly March. He is like starting Mike Bibby!!

You took an ignorant shot at Boozer, but what else are the Bulls actually lacking that they desperately need?

I agree the Bulls need what you said. OJ Mayo and Jr Smith would help them a lot. But EVERY team (especially the contenders) add to their team as well. Im not even sure the Bulls would improve their record next year even if they do add that.

And how was that an ignorant shot at Boozer? What did i say that was wrong? He was injured to start the season and missed a lot of time and, what do you know, hes injured again. Its not even unluckiness at this point, its a matter of time to when he gets injured. And when he's healthy he's still not an imposing force or anything like that.

You're right what was i thinking..... Add a player that can dribble the ball, create his own shot, AND get 12 point a game!!! :speechless: Its over indeed.

The point is the Bulls are already a really good team, they have a superstar player, 3 other really good starting players at their positions, good depth, quality head coach and are the best defensive and rebounding team in the NBA. So what's there weakness? Well there offense is only average. Well if your adding another scorer, Then their offense goes from average to pretty good, especially since Rose is gonna get better. So then where's the weakness on this team? You bring up Boozer, but look at his stats this season and call him bad. Not to mention if he is hurt, they have a very good back up in Taj Gibson who can start on alot of teams. Nobody is saying they will win tons of champions because they still have to get it done on the court. But this team is only going to get better and should be good for a while.

The thing is, not EVERY team can add to their team, especially not the contenders. For example what can the Magic due with the contracts they have on their roster? I know your a Heat fan, so what are they gonna be able to do next year. They don't have the midlevel or cap space, don't have draft picks or other teams picks. Or any valueable young talent to offer in a deal either. So all they can do get rid of guys like Eddie House, Mike Bibby, Juwan Howard, Dampier or Zydrunas and bring in other players like that at a simliar price. Unless someone wants to take a bunch of years of Mike Miller in a bad contract swap. But the player you would get in return isn't going to be very good. While the Bulls have the midlevel, some cap space and could clear more by cutting Bogans or trading Brewer who only has one year left on his deal. Not to mention they have two first round picks picks and future first round Bobcats pick. Along with young players like Taj and Omer Asik that alot of teams like. So teams like say the Magic or Heat need to get lucky to get better, by adding a player who gives them more then expected. While a team like the Bulls are in the position to get better and add another quality talented player to the roster.

Why would you worry about Teague tonight? Let him get his 20 points and shutdown JJ and Crawford. No adjustments need to be made from game 3.

Yams
05-08-2011, 08:00 PM
He's averaged 5.3 points in 18.9 minutes per game with good defense and good 3 point shooting (48.3%). But I'd hesitate to say he's playing great. I would say he's playing his role great, however. But with a better SG, we could ask more of them and get more out of them.

With a better anything we would be better. :p

If its available in the next CBA, we do have it. We can also add better players with the vet min this year than we did last year. We have the whole offseason from beginning to end to get the right role players. Last year we spend all our time and energy getting the Big 3. We don't need much anyways... Gimme a defensive center that's decent on offense + a PG and we're set.

And for the other bolded part, thats basically addition by subtraction. There's a way better crop of vet players this offseason that can help us.

Look at how much the Lakers improved their squad this year, yet they didn't even get past the first round.

Looks like the Bulls "lucky" shooting is not happening tonight, or the Hawks "Defense" is great! Oh, wait, that never happens to the Bulls, it's always Hawks that are either "lucky" or the Bulls' D is getting to them.

I still can't believe they took him at #2. Just imagine how good they'd be with CP3 or D-Will.
I remember watching the draft and my preference going in was Deron because I liked how he ran that Illini team and CP3 had a reputation for being dirty after punching a dude in the nuts. Didn't know what to expect from Marvin, but I knew he wasn't even a starter on UNC. That draft will haunt this franchise for a long time.

Other than his stupid jump shots, Josh Smith is playing great

tries to shoot jumpers like he's Ray Allen
tries to take it down court and break ankles like he's AI

he needs to bang the boards and wear out folks like boozer who he has an advantage over in the paint

and block shots, he didn't het to youngest to 1000 blocks for nothing

If we ever had a coach that knew how to develope players Josh would be a beast... He's still too damn immature, he swears he can do everything at every position... Play your role!

A lot of turnovers and missed FTs that quarter for ATL. Not to mention a few missed dunks. They probably shouldn't be happy they're only up 1. I think Chicago probably cracks down the defense, starts making shots and takes over. ATL played significantly better for 75% of that half and basically has nothing to show for it.
