(And I don't) But man, you have to admire that competitiveness.

A dislocated elbow, are you kidding me? You know how what a shooting pain it is just to have his arm make contact with anything?

As long as he's been in the league, I have never been a fan of Rondo, ever. In the past I've considered him vastly overrated, and in present-day I still do, just not as badly as the media used to.

Regardless, what an athlete, and what a competitor. That steal and layup - unreal.

There are no imaginary injuries here, nor unnecessary wheelchairs, or anything else. There's just a guy clearly in some real life pain, and demanding the opportunity to play through it.

Props to him.

Sportfan

Agreed, and it's really this whole Celtic team that's mentored him to be the tough player he is. Never going to be a superstar, but how you can cheer against him I have no clue.

Rondo's going to **** up the heat next time with a triple double.

that was a revealing post game interview. i thought that he merely hyperextended his elbow since he returned, but apparently it was a much more serious injury. props to rondo for fighting through the injury and hopefully he can somehow play game 4.

i dont like Rondo because of all the rumors that surrounded him at UK. i am a student there and my brother also graduated from there so ive supported UK for about 8 years now and its pretty much a fact to UK fans that he shaved points while he was in college. so ive been hating on Rondo for a long time now and my opinion of him will never change.

and quote me on this or w/e, but i know for a fact that once he doesnt have 3 future HOF'ers to pass the ball to, his numbers will drastically fall and he will become an average PG unless he can develop a better jump shot.

That being said, the HEAT were really dumb to not pressure him. They actually went easy on him when he came back in as if they felt bad. Thats crap. This is pro sports. I've disocated the same elbow twice and i have no idea how Rondo was able to go out and play basketball with it. My second dislocation was easier and i think thats how it generally works but it would still have been hard as **** to play basketball. He will be in a sling today and i'm guessing they advise him not to play game 4 but if he was able to tough it out right after the injury he probably still can. Rondo is one tough bastard. Him coming back into the game was just stupid, not tough, stupid. The Celtics had a double digit lead when he went out and a double digit lead when he came back. He didn't need to come back in the game for the Celtics to win, it was already over. West could just have easily played the end of the game for him so he could give it a rest. What if something else had happened where he injured it worse or he hurt the team because he can't give 100%? It wasn't necessary.

4) Nash
5) Westbrook
6) Rondo

Rondo plays better D with one arm then Nash plays with two.

my list (i'm a celtics fan btw)

1.) Paul
2.) Rose
3.) Deron
4.) Rondo
5.) Westbrook (would be higher if he didn't try to pull a Kobe all the time)

Him coming back into the game was just stupid, not tough, stupid. The Celtics had a double digit lead when he went out and a double digit lead when he came back. He didn't need to come back in the game for the Celtics to win, it was already over. West could just have easily played the end of the game for him so he could give it a rest. What if something else had happened where he injured it worse or he hurt the team because he can't give 100%? It wasn't necessary.
Doc Rivers and the doctors were strange with this also. Yeah, Rondo was stupid to do it, but he's not a doctor or a coach.

If for some reason Rondo does play next game, he should be coming off the bench, especially since it's not an elimination game.

Unless this was an acting job Stern set up;).

Westbrook has been shooting the Thunder out of games and Rondo isn't in the same league as Nash. Just because he has better defense than Nash doesn't mean he has the same effect on the game. The Suns won forty games this past season. Only reason he wasn't in MVP talks was because the Suns didn't make the Playoffs (because they didn't have the team and also made a trade in December), and they probably don't like voting for players that age.

I would have understood more if the game was close, but it wasn't. The victory wasn't really in question. It seems like an unnecessary risk when they didn't need him to win the game. How did they even know the true extent of the injury. I don't know how you can really check everything out in 10 minutes.

Yeah that too. It's not like Dalonte West isn't good. Can shoot, assist, defend, and that's what he did that game. I'm not saying it really was just some act, but what the heck was that? Rondo faking so he wouldn't be played physical?lol I'm joking, but that whole thing was ridiculous.
