View Full Version : Dajun Wagner Making A NBA Comeback

I really really hope he can get back into the league. Injuries really robbed us of an exciting scorer, probably wouldn't have been a NBA superstar but a guy like LeBron in Cleveland could've turned him into a solid #2 option.

Ten years ago, Dajuan Wagner was the biggest name in high school basketball as he finished up a career at Camden High. The scoring machine once netted 100 points in a game and averaged an unthinkable 42 for an entire season. Around town, people christened him the basketball Messiah.

But today, the No. 6 pick of the 2002 NBA Draft is back where it all started, watching youth league games at an elementary school in relative anonymity.

He was an undersized shooting guard with horrible FG%. He sounds like he's a really nice guy, but he wasnt really a play maker, and a 6'2, you better know how to pass the rock, because bumping up to SG puts you about 4-6inch disadvantage.

He was a strong athlete, and anybody good enough to get to the NBA has some serious game, but he just seemed like a Shaun Respert or a Harold Miner. A guy that was too small to play SG, and not enough of a ball handler/distrubtor to play PG. Who knows what would have happened had he been healthy. He might have been able to get into a rhythm and work on his FG%, but his game needed a lot of work, though again, injuries didnt help at all.

Dajun wagner is from my hood, so many people around hyped him up for nothing, he was tearing it up in HS, even score 100 in one game, but for nothing smh.

He is only 28 so I root for him!!!

Dude beasted in high school and scored 100 points one game, avg 42 pts per game!!!!!

Beasted at Memphis avg like 28 pts per game!!!!!

And after being picked 6th overall in the NBA draft he avg 13 pts a game in his rookie year!!!

I think if he is healthy and works hard to get back to 80% of what he was ....

Then he can be a very good 6th man on a lower half NBA team (like Aaron Brooks, Drajic, Bledsoe)

OR

3rd person off a bench for a contender (like JJ Baurea, Chalmers, CJ Watson, Maynor)

Just my opinion :hide:

Not to pick on you (or the like 26547 others in this thread) but why do you need to list his wiki page in your posts?
