--------Paul- Belinelli- Ariza- Landry- Okafor---------------------Fisher- Bryant- Artest- Gasol- Bynum -

Fact: Chris Paul's triple-double of 27 points, 15 assists and 13 rebounds helped the New Orleans Hornets to a 93-88 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 of the best-of-seven Western Conference first round series on Sunday night at the New Orleans Arena. The Hornets' win evened the series at 2-2.

HOT: Hornets forward Trevor Ariza isn't exactly known for his offensive prowess, but he was a driving force for New Orleans in the first half. Ariza went 8-of-12 for 16 points in the first half to keep the Hornets in the game as they were down by as many as nine points in the first half and with Paul only scoring four points in the same time span. Ariza finished with 19 points.

NOT: The Lakers' Kobe Bryant went scoreless in the first half going 0-for-7 from the floor. It's the first time that's happened in a playoff game since 2005. Bryant ended up with 17 points on 5-of-18 shooting, but the most concerning point occurred in the fourth quarter when he injured his left foot and left the game temporarily. He's walking on crutches and said he'll have treatment on the flight home.

Hornets take this one by 3 or 4 points. I see no reason to believe otherwise. Gasol and Bynum need to show up in this one or this series is over. They have simply been outplayed and need to starting playing with a sense of urgency or their season will be over.

I can't imagine the Hornets winning this one. Didn't they show a stat in 2009 that said whenever the series was tied and LA had game 5 at home they are undefeated in their history?

leftymo
04-26-2011, 11:58 AM
Phil Jackson when faced with this situation and wins game 5, wins a title in that same playoff...

Lakers win tonight and the Lakers will win the championship.

Phil Jackson's teams when winning more than 56 games, ALWAYS make the NBA Finals. With SA about to be bounced ( although I think there's a chance they come back), LA will now have HCA throughout the western playoffs...

Lakers have won every game they've had to in this series, including reclaiming HCA in game 3.

The hornets beating the lakers today would be the biggest upset in the 2011 playoffs (even more than the memphis/sa series).

As always, I agree with you. I remember a couple years ago, where the Lakers blew out the rockets by 40 points at home in a game 5 situation, where the series was tied 2-2. I saw the same thing last year as well, so the Lakers are the obvious pick to me.

One bad game might be a fluke, but we're going on 5 consecutive playoff games at this point. The dude is averaging like 12 & 6 while shooting in the high 30%'s and playing big minutes. Pathetic!

Being the MVP doesn't make you better than another player my friend. It means you were the best player on a great team. Cp3 is the best player on a team largely composed of misfits. But look what he's able to do with them against one of the leagues premier teams/back to back champs? His impact on the game is with Lebron/Howard, and virtually nobody else.

Just give it the eye test dude. Look how well he penetrates through ANY defense and puts a dime pass to a teammate, or drains 3's consistently, or plays lockdown D. He just does it all, and does it all better than everyone else. He's back to prime Cp3 (which is truly one of the top 5 points to ever play) - it's right there for us all to see.
