Derrick Rose said that he's "definitely" getting a painkilling shot in his ankle Tuesday and is fully expected to play in Game 5.

This should pretty much squash any doubt of him playing, as he also said "It's not broke, so I'm definitely playing". He should be just fine despite the injury.

Whether or not he's the usual D-Rose may be a different story.

The Bulls need to win this and put the Pacers away here. Rose needs to rest his ankle for round 2 and we don't want the Pacers gainning confidence thinking they can beat the Bulls and making this a series. There's no excuse for the Bulls too lose this game at home here. So hopefully the Bulls come out ready to play here.

Rose has had a pain killing shot the last two years (rookie year with a wrist injury and last year with a sore back) and Noah has had the same shots earlier this year, he said it literally takes away all pain.

The only concern I have is about the stability of his ankle, I hope he's wearing some sort of brace on it.

Bulls should win this.

Pacers are definetly winning this next one regardless if Rose is healthy or not. He is not that much of a factor i dont understand all the hype. I mean they do have Deng who is the key factor as well as CJ Watson. Thats what they have and i think thats what will make them win but i still see the Pacers coming back.

Chicago has always responded well after a loss this season, this may have been the wake up call they needed. I fully expect a double digit win for Chicago tonight.

 Did you seriously just say Rose isn't a big factor in this series? Have you even watched one game of this series? Theone game Rose struggles offensively (scroing just 15 pts) the Pacers finally won. If rose has his normal 25+ Chicago wins game 4 sweeps the series and we aren't having this conversation.

Noah just needs to play like he did saturday and if boozer stops his fade aways and drives to the basket*and dunks* and quits those layups, Bulls need this so Rose can rest that ankle

^^Mr Rose don't matter only has 3 post, so im sure someone just trying to stir the pot

I believe he wears ankle braces on both ankles regardless if he's injured or not. Idk what you can do in addition to that besides taping it or inserting some more stabilizing (stronger rods on each side of ankle) that limits movement.

Actually he isn't both of those were just nagging injuries more then anything serious he played through all of them. They weren't broken bones or ****ed up knees or anything of the sort.

I see alot of over confident Bulls fans in here. From a team that barely beat IND the first 3 games and nearly got blown out the last game(saved by a late game flurry). The fact is the Bulls are a better team(right now). The Pacers can easily come in here and win this one especially if Rose isnt 100%. If his mobility is limited then he may have issues. His game is predicated on his speed, quick change of direction and leaping ability. If your have a bad wheel those all become difficult(especially change of direction). The Bulls SHOULD win this but dont count us out yet. If Rose settles for jumpers then they will be in trouble.

Maybe because the poster who makes the thread resides in the central and most Bulls fans who watch the games live in the CST, whereas people who live in Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Philly, Boston, NY all live on the Eastern Coast when the game starts at the EST.

I see alot of over confident Bulls fans in here.

Why shouldn't Bulls fans be confident? They are up 3-1 on a team that they won 25 more games then, beat 6 of 8 times this year and playing at home with the best home record in the NBA. We should be confident that our team will win this game, and if they don't it would be a major disappointment.

From a team that barely beat IND the first 3 games and nearly got blown out the last game(saved by a late game flurry).

See that comment is a bunch of nonsense and all that proves that the Bulls are the better team. It's the playoffs, the games are suppose to be close and tough to win. All the Pacers have proved is they belong in the playoffs and are a good young team. If the Pacers got blown out in these games and they weren't close. Well then the Pacers would have no business being in the playoffs or didn't show up for this series. In the NBA the difference between a really good team and a good/ok team is often how you close out games. What has happen late in these games, shows that the Bulls are the superior team. It doesn't take blow outs or 10 plus point wins to prove that. Yes going off the numbers, the Bulls have performed much worse in this series then they did in the regular season. When you consider there FG percentage and turnovers. But we also know if the game is somewhat close late, the Bulls are likely going to win. Heck last game they were losing by 13 with a 1:54 left and got the lead down to 1 point and had a chance to tie it at the end. If the lead is only 7-8, the Bulls probably win that game and sweep the Pacers. So every game in this series the Bulls have dominated the game late and you know it has to be in the back of the Pacers players minds. That they are going to need a big lead late to hold this team off. Of course as a Bulls fan, I ask myself. If the Bulls can play so well late in the game, well where was that the rest of the game? Well hopefully actually losing to the Pacers last game was a wake up call, and they will play much better tonight.

The Pacers can easily come in here and win this one especially if Rose isnt 100%.

Easily? Come on. Rose struggled in game 3 and the Bulls won and was hurt in game 4 and the Bulls almost won in Indiana. There's going to be nothing easy about coming into Chicago and winning this game. The players are going to come out motivated after losing the last game. Not to mention they are gonna be pumped up to close this series out and the crowd is going to be going crazy. The Pacers are gonna have to come out and play great, along with the Bulls struggling again to have a chance to win this game. Plus if the game is close late. Who do you think is going to come out on top? Well these past four games tell us, that the Pacers are gonna need a 10 plus point lead to do that. Which I don't feel will happen like it did in the second quarter of game 2, when the Bulls fell apart before half time.

The Bulls SHOULD win this but dont count us out yet. If Rose settles for jumpers then they will be in trouble

Nobody is counting out the Pacers they have played the Bulls tough all series. Tonight could very well be another tough game. But there's no reason why the Bulls should lose this game. They are the superior team, and at home(with the best home record in the NBA) in a close out game. Even if Rose is only 70 percent tonight like he was on Saturday they should win this game at home. Because Deng shouldn't go 5-14, Korver 3-8, Taj 0-5 and even Boozer 6-15 again. It took all of those guys to struggle and Rose to be hurt and bad for the Pacers to win that game. Basically the only guy who played well was Noah who went 8 for 13 scoring 21 points. So even if Rose only scores 15-20 points again, you can't count on only one of Deng, Korver, Gibson, Boozer and Noah shooting the ball well again. Just look at game 3, Rose shot terrible and only scored 23 points, along with Boozer probably having his worst game of the season. But they had Noah go 3-6 with 11 points, Deng with 21 going 8-19, Korver 5-6 with 12 points and even Taj went 3-5 off the bench with 6 points. So if Rose isn't very good like games 1-2, they still have guys who can step up.

Beatdown of historical proportions, at the end of the night Bulls fans will claim the victory make them favorites in the East.

Bulls by 25

Well that would be nice, but I stopped hoping for that after the first few three games were close. It could happen, but the Bulls need most of their top players to play well. In this series, it seems like if one guy has a good game, then another guy has to have a crappy game. For example in game 1 Rose, Deng and Korver had good games. While Boozer and Noah were bad. In game 2 Rose and Boozer were good. While Noah and Deng were bad. In game 3, Deng, Noah, Korver and even Bogans were good. While Rose was bad(despite his big shot at the end) and Boozer was terrible. In game 4 Noah was good, Boozer was alright, but Deng struggled, Rose was hurt and bad, and even Korver shot wasn't falling. For the Bulls have a big win, they need 3 or 4 of their top guys to have good games. It's hard to play shoot the ball well, when at least half of your top players are struggling every game. But they are due, that's for sure.

I dont see how this game is not close. Pacers give the bulls all kind of trouble, and the bulls have not shown that their offense can be explosive. Unless the pacers cant make a shot this should be a good game.

True, but it also comes down to. Will half the Bulls top players continue to struggle? This team has shot 36, 39 and 38 percent the past three games. There's going to be a game at some point, when this team shoots in the mid 40s. With 3 of 4 of Rose, Deng, Noah and Boozer having good games at least. Instead of only 1 or 2 of them like we have seen in the first four games in this series. Will that be tonight? Who knows, but I expect these players being more pumped for tonights game then they have been all series.

They are going to be motivated after a loss, remember this team won 12 straight(final 9 regular season games and first 3 playoff games) before the last game. It's hard to be motivated to correct stuff when you are winning games. It doesn't matter if a lot of those games were close or not. So hopefully they come out a little pissed off tonight and pumped up with this being a close out game at home. I know the crowd will be going crazy as well, so there's no reason the Bulls should lose this game. In fact if they do I will be pretty stunned and very pissed off at them. Because it comes down to if they can't be pumped up enough(especially after losing to them on Saturday) to win a close out game at home against a good but not very good Pacers team. Well then things aren't looking great for them to go deep in the playoffs. There's no doubt this is a game the Bulls should win.

For the first time this series, Thibs and the players have discussed trying new plays and adjusting rotations defensively. (way past due).

And Frank Vogel and the Indiana players are really trying to shoot themselves in the foot. Vogel: "If we win tonight, we're going to win the series" (ESPN) and Granger claiming he knows they're going to win, blah, blah, blah.

And Frank Vogel and the Indiana players are really trying to shoot themselves in the foot. Vogel: "If we win tonight, we're going to win the series"

The key is winning tonight, I think deep down he knows this is going to be a very tough game to win. So if they do pull it out, I could see the Pacers having confidence that they could win the series. NBA history says they won't and the Bulls haven't lost 3 straight games all year let alone 4. But if they do somehow pull out tonight's game there's no doubt they will gain a ton of confidence. That's why the Bulls need to put them away here, and not make this a tough series.

So if the Pacers win tonight, Vogel has basically guaranteed game 6 & 7 wins.

I don't really blame Vogel for saying that. I think he's trying to build confidence in his young team that "if" they win tonight, they can still win the series.

Being a pacers fans, I realize the bulls are on a completely different level, and I expect them to close it out at home this evening. I however have enjoyed the publicity indiana has recieved and am proud to be a pacers fan. I watch every game, every year, even the bad ones! :)

Just to think, Rose should've been whistled for his 5th foul when he went up to block that shot and hit the Pacer's wrist. It's great to play for a big city market in $tern's NBA.

I give Rose that shot all night long. It won't be the key component to winning a playoff series against better teams, that compnent is Boozer and he's non-existent. He needs to wake up.

I agree you leave it open because Rose hasn't proved he can knock it down consistently especially in these playoffs. But if Rose starts hitting it more conistently going into the next round it will be very scary for opponents.

This I agree with. He's improving it though, which is good to see. If he works on it like he did last offseason, I won't doubt he'll start knocking it down with consistency. They still need Boozer to wake up though. The game would be so much easier for Rose if Boozer would get back to his 20 and 10 games.

You give it to him until he hits one. His 3s really seem to come in streaks. I'd love to see data on it, because I know most players aren't actually streaky even if it seems like they are.

This quarter started out ugly for the Bulls by they have really finished well. Rose is responsible for most of it but the defense has also really stepped up. This is the Bulls team that needs to show up for four quarters every game. They will be tough to beat if they do that. And some contributions from Boozer would be wonderful too.

Great move by Thibs to recognize that the NBA is not gonna put their money maker in foul trouble.

I applaud Josh McRoberts for not putting up with this shyt. Kurt Thomas and Joakim Noah just knock out the other teams' players and the NBA doesn't do shyt. But they gotta protect the Bulls.

Why? Noah extended the forearm to boxout. It was McRoberts that ran his face into it. It's not a foul. It happens sometimes in basketball.

Game 1: Tyler Hansborough nearly received a concussion from a Kurt Thomas elbow, not even a foul call.

Game 5: Josh McRoberts pushes off Noah for a rebound, Flagrant 2.

That seems fair.

Boozer isn't the reason why we got the number one seed
You're misinterpreting what I was saying. If I'm Pacers, I live with that shot. While Boozer may not be the reason you guys got #1 seed, he has to play well if the Bulls are going to win a title. Rose is so good that he can carry the team in spurts, but not all at once. I just wanna Booz plaay well is all. He's wasting his talents playing this way. Anyway, it looks like the Pacers have mailed it in.

If a Pacer player did what Noah just did to a Bull player, you'd be singing a different tune and you know it.

It's not hate, it's just reality. Noah fore amred him in the face/neck. Per the rules, that's a flagrant.
