Memphis guard Tony Allen accused Manu Ginobili of faking his right elbow injury.

Sports Illustrated reporter Chris Mannix just tweeted the interesting comment from Allen at the Grizzlies’ practice today, who claimed that Ginobili’s sprained right elbow is “for the birds.”

Allen and Ginobili have been involved in a physical battle in both games that Ginobili has played in the series since missing Game 1 with what Spurs doctors diagnosed as a sprained right elbow.

“Everybody is banged up,” Allen said. “You don’t see me running to my PR guy telling him about an injury.”

I don't see why Manu would be faking his injury. I mean what's the point? Would there be any good reason to do that? It's not like he is gaining any kind of advantage by faking an injury.

Manu's not faking the injury. On the flipside, Tony Allen is essential to memphis because of things like this. He adds fuel to the fire, even if he says stupid things. That's exactly what an underdog 8th seed like the grizzlies need in these playoffs.

I think it's more that he's just talking smack and calling him a baby.

I could see him milking it a bit. Honestly doesn't matter, Tony Allen is a spark plug and a fantastic defender. If he needs to do stuff like this to kee pup the "fire" then so be it.

Faking injuries doesn't even work anymore. If you play D less because the opponent is hurt, then you are a lazy ****ing ***wipe.

So I doubt Manu is faking.

so ginobili misses game 1 wears extra padding on his elbow and shoots with one hand at the free throw line and hes faking it? what is ginobili trying to accomplish from faking an injury?

Doubt hes faking, but I do think he looks for every excuse in the book to get himself off the hook for anything negative thats happening to him or the spurs.

The Grizzlies are just taking it to the Spurs so far... in every sense. Let's see if they can keep it up though.
