View Full Version : Top 4 teams in the East next season

davids22
04-22-2011, 07:19 PM
A lot of teams are "supposedly" going to improve themselves in the off-season. The Heat will probably get a mediocre plug-in at center (enough to fix their lack of an inside game), the Knicks get that one or two players they've been looking for (or maybe a Chris Paul deal goes down, who knows). Obviously we'll never know until the off-season, but knowing what you know now along with the front offices expectations in this upcoming free agency (plus draft), what 4 teams will be sitting atop the East next season? Take everything into account, like certain players that could very well be traded (*ahem* Chris Paul *ahem* Dwight)

I'll say
1. Heat
2. Bulls
3. Knicks (somehow get Chris Paul)
4. Celtics (one more run?)

In no specific order, but what I have listed above is a very realistic outcome.

Honorable mention:
5. Hawks
6. Nets (Acquire Dwight mid season)
7. 76ers
8. Magic (start decent but still not championship material, Dwight wants out)

So how are the bulls gonna fall from #1 to #3?? Come on people they have boozer and Noah out for like 20+ games each and they still had the best record so I'm still saying they'll be #1

Even as a Bulls fan I think we aren't a guarantee to lock up the number 1 spot I personally think depending on moves the top 4 are very very very interchangeable.

who knows whats going to happen.

the bulls won 41 games last year. i thought they would improve...but not this much. do they find a 2 guard?

the heat we all expected to be good...and a 2 seed is no disappointment. they should be at least as good again next year

the celts are getting older, but would it surprise anyone if they had another run in them?

the magic's good fortune could come to a halt if they trade (or lose d.howard)..and someone else's team would be up for a nice addition.

the knicks are bound to be better, especially if they add another piece...but will they crack the top 4? maybe

milwaukee was predicted to win the east central division, so they may have a breakout year.

too many imponderables

good post, but the knicks just depleted everything they had to offer to get melo. that and they might not have the cap room whenever the new cba gets solved. oh and dwight isn't going anywhere.

Not unless there's a big roster change. This was the first year in a while it wasn't just Celtics, Magic, Cavs, Atlanta like it has been for the last few years

Knicks will have to once again deplete the team for Chris Paul. If a mid-season trade goes down and HOPEFULLY one does. We looking at STAT-MELO-PAUL and literally nothing else.

They have nothing to give. What would the package be centered around? Landry Fields and Shawne Williams? Bill Walker and Ronny Turiaf? Jared Jeffries and Anthony Carter?

They just don't have the personnel to acquire a top 2 PG in the NBA.

Bulls or Heat will have the top seeds. The Heat will have some small upgrades, and I expect a pretty big upgrade from the Bulls at SG. That said it's gonna depend on health on who get's the number one seed. Which is too hard to predict right now, since if say Wade or Deng only play 65 games. It could have a big factor on who gets that one seed.

The Knicks are about to get bounced out of the playoffs and they're going to do better than the Bulls next season.. right.

Yeah and I wouldn't be surprised if the Bulls add a better player then the Knicks do this off season. I know every Bulls fan has his fingers crossed that Jason Richardson will accept the midlevel expectation this off season and replace Bogans. But even if they don't get him there's plenty of other options and trades they could make. They could have made a deal at the deadline, but they think they could get a better player this off season.

i dont understand some people,as long as billups still wants to play,he will.im pretty sure we will re-sign him before next season after the CBA,the focus needs to be on depth ,several role players who are FAs next year that would take a minimum to play in new york, forget chris paul

This is a trick question, as there will be no season next year.

Therefore the standings of all 0-0 teams will be in alphabetical order. So I will predict with great confidence:

1.Atlanta
2.Boston
3.Charlotte
4.Chicago

are we talking seeding or are we talking talent wise?
because the celtics top that list if we are

and the magic are not top 4

Some of you don't realize that the Knicks roster was destroyed for Melo and lost any depth or good role players. They will rebuild the supporting cast this season and not to mention they will have a training camp and pre season together to get ready. Knicks did this on the fly and the chemistry just isnt where it should be, that will change next season.

The heat will have another year together of being together and will be stronger. They obviously have the most talent in the East.

The Bulls will only get better, they are a very young talented team.

The celtics are getting old but still have a great team.

Personally, I don't think the Heat will be #1 in the regular season. Just making it with a top 3 seed and staying healthy until the playoffs arrive is all they want.
