--------Fisher- Bryant- Artest- Gasol- Bynum---------------------Paul- Belinelli- Ariza- Landry- Okafor -

Fact: On Friday, the series swings to New Orleans, a spot Los Angeles has faired well, taking nine of the last 12. Of note, when splitting the first two games, the Lakers are 28-12 all-time.

HOT: After accepting the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in front of the home crowd, Odom got off to a quick start, making three straight shots. Odom put his lackluster 10-point performance (six came in garbage time) in Game 1 and had a strong showing with 16 points in 27 minutes of play.

NOT: Pau Gasol has been an unfamiliar territory in back-to-back games. In the regular season, he shot 52 percent from the field, but is an uncharacteristic 21 percent (4-for-19) in the series after a 2-for-10 performance in Game 2. Gasol finished with a quiet eight points and five rebounds, although he did have three blocks. The Hornets have done a solid job being physical with Gasol. With defenders such as Emeka Okafor, Aaron Gray, and Carl Landry having a stronger base than Gasol, the 7-foot Spaniard has been having a hard time posting up.

Hornets at home. We play better at home then on the road, and we could be 2-0 in this series if we did some things we normally do in Game 2. Oh well though, Hornets will have tons of energy tonight, the crowd will be insane (some of the things I've heard are great), and the Hornets go up 2-1.

I don't think Kobe had a bad game. He only took ten shots because he was more into playing defense and setting the standard for the rest of the team. He didn't even look for his shot at all.
He didn't Shut down Paul but he slowed him down.

Paul had 20 points 9 assists in game 2 compared to his 33 and 14. That's a significant difference.
Lakers as a team held the Hornets to 78 points in game 2. Game 1 Hornets scored 109.
That is a 31 point difference. That is huge difference. I know Hornets missed 12 free throws (20-32) but even if they made those there still would have been a 19 point turnaround.

I see the same in this game, more Lakers defense.

Agree, contradictory since he's been inconsistent at times also. But all of those guys were healthy. CP3 was battling back from serious injury. And from what we're seeing, he's back.

Boston - Miami
Bulls - Orlando/Atlanta

Lakers - Dallas (most likely)

So who will LA face in the 2nd round when they advance

I wanna worry about this series before we think about the next one.

but it's definitely gonna be Dallas or Portland in the second round. ;)

We play Dallas/Portland. The second round match ups for the entire league are awesome.

I think we have the making of one of the best semi finals ever for the entire league this year.

Boston - Miami
Bulls - Orlando/Atlanta

Lakers - Dallas (most likely)
OKC - San Antonio.

I mean, wow, right?

seriously, that's exciting on so many elements. Boston-Miami and OKC-SAS is more of old school vs. new school, which is fun to watch.

There goin against LA! I never even thought NOLA would win a game but they have played real good against them they earned respect from a lot of people b/c no one picked them to win or even play this good minus David West

ill take NO in this one. kobes worn down i dont see him being able to keep up with CP. also that crowd is going to be so pumped. it'll be close but i see another off game from kobe and another big game from paul

Wrong prediction.

Hah. Bob Bass - retired some years back. He was a legend though. Multi-executive of the year, including just after that (whoops!) trade went down.

He and LTbaaaby (mavs fan too) are the worst posters on PSD,just homers who say dumb things all year long until their team choke again in playoffs, then they disappear.

I was hoping for da hornets to feed off the fan energy and steal their 1st home game kobe played well and laker bench(odom) but laker size is just too much for them and with no west being on the team its harder than i thought it would be for da hornets to run pick n rolls with chris

Agreed. They might have been able to steal a game without West, but they missed him in game three especially. With that being said, Landry has done a great job replacing him.

Laker defense was successful tonight against Paul. They started meeting the pick and roll much higher in hopes of trapping Paul. It worked.

thought the lakers made paul become a scorer. and he was actually doing it. great effort. if it wasnt for landry getting more ft's than kobe, bynum and gasol combined!!! this would have been a bigger blowout.
