View Full Version : How many times has the team with the MVP...

a.) Made it to the NBA Finals
b.) Won the NBA Finals

I am just curious what the numbers look like. Yes I am a bulls fan, and no, this is not a thread intended to debate who the MVP should be, start flame wars between different fans, etc. I'm just curious of to know if a player being named the MVP has any corrilation with team success. For example, to win an MVP a player needs to have great numbers, which isn't necessarily possible unless he is the clear #1 option. So does that mean teams with the MVP are less likely to win the championship because the team relies too much on that player, or isn't deep enough to make a run, etc. Again, for those who makes this thread easier to comment on, pretend the MVP hasn't been awarded yet and no homerism is involved. I haven't been able to find the facts and was interested in what he numbers looked like.

well i took your advice, and the last time was 1997-Jordan, where the MVP won the championship. So only once in the past 14 seasons. It would be a good year to break the recent trend.

Even the group of people that don't believe Rose should win MVP has realized he is a lock for MVP. Derrick Rose is the MVP.

I'm obviously exaggerating... just making a point of how Bulls fans think it's hilarious to rag on Lebron for winning MVP but no title. Derrick Rose hasn't even officially been awarded the damn thing yet let alone win the title. So LOL let's ask Derrick Rose hmm?

You should probably learn to read before you call someone a dick:

well i took your advice, and the last time was 1997-Jordan, where the MVP won the championship. So only once in the past 14 seasons. It would be a good year to break the recent trend.

It doesn't take someone with a Masters in English to read into exactly what he did with this post. He's, of course, a Bulls can who, of course, assumes Rose will win the MVP.

Way to remain objective, mod.

 Silly fool. What part did I miss? He reiterated he wasn't speaking of anyone specific although most people that are quick to judge would definitely think that. He's a Bulls fans who in numerous threads has stated he believes Rose will win the MVP. And he then creates this thread and states this year would be a great year to change that. Are you that dense that you can't put 2 and 2 together?

And what a wonderful mod you are. Calling posters "illiterate" "dicks" and "fools" in the span of 3 posts. Amazing example you are. No wonder this forum is a cesspool. People like you are in charge of moderating it.

But since the Bulls didn't have an MVP candidate the 2 years before, I doubt you would agree.

But this thread was basically about the Bulls though.

He says "This would be a good year to break the trend" meaning that not only was this a Rose MVP thread but also that the Bulls should win the title.

How you cannot see that baffles me.

I have no doubt Rose is going to be MVP but even you cannot deny that this was basically a Bulls praise thread in disguise.
