How is this even remotely possible? The draft, free agency, trades & injuries will all change the outlook of teams form year to year. What if Carmelo had a career threatening injury next year that ended the Knicks championship aspirations. That would certainly change your pick for a few years from now. You can predict this year and nothing beyond that.

Interesting pick for this season. I would be happy for MAvs fans an players, they deserve it, and they have the best team they've had yet!

My pick this year: Lakers. Just cant not see them winning

11: Celtics or Lakers (cant make up my mind)
12: Lakers (or nobody, depending on the CBA).
13: Bulls
14: Bulls
15: Lakers
16: Bulls

The Bulls depends on Rose of course and if they can get the right pieces in the offseason via free-agency and the draft.

Impossible to tell, but I'll go Heat, Thunder, Heat, Thunder, Bulls.

BUT

go back 5 years in your head to 2006, and think about if you would've guessed Heat, Spurs, Celtics, Lakers, Lakers, when the Celtics were horrible and the Lakers were a fringe 7th, 8th seed type team, and the Blazers were looking like the next dynasty. Doubtful, that's how much can change.

They had an old Malone, old Payton, and Shaq with one foot out the door in '04, and got back to being a powerhouse in 4 years. Anything is possible when it comes to the Lakers.

This is really tough to "predict".. Trades, FA signings, injuries etc...

As of right now though, I'd probably go

Lakers
Heat
Heat
Bulls
Thunder.

Anything can happen until then, heck, the Clipps or Wolves may become title contenders.

The way I see it:

2011: CELTICS - (IF Shaq comes back) otherwise the Lakers - but this might be the last chance for both. The door is closing fast on both of them. This will be the last Celtics/Lakers finals for a LONG time.

2012: The Heat/Bulls/OKC era begins. The HEAT takes it. (Provided they pick up some pieces) but won't win again.

2013: The BULLS are ready. They take sweet revenge.

2014: The BULLS win back to back

2015: The JAZZ (the only team out west besides OKC with a serious future) surprises everyone and returns to the finals. A Bulls vs. Jazz final. And it's payback time. JAZZ win.

13'-Miami,Chicago,Thunder,Knicks,clippers(I think lakers will be to old to contend)
14,-Miami,Chicago,Thunder,Knicks,clippers
15,-Lakers

I think by 15' lakers will be a totally different team and Kobe may be gone or that may be his last season but I think they will have Howard and that year they will aquire another star and very good role players!

It will be a sad day when Kobe retires but atleast he will go down as the 2nd greatest player to ever play the game...but in my eyes he will always be #1

KOBE= once in a while talent.

So were West, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, and Shaq. That covers the 2000's, 1990's, 1980's, and 1970's. The Lakers will have Superstars waiting for the chance to play for the Lakers and take over for kobe.

A LOT depends on what happens with Dwight Howard. If he switches teams that could pro-long the Lakers Dynasty or turn another team into a huge threat overnight. The way the teams currently look:

Lakers
Heat
Thunder
Heat
Heat

It's really tough to bet against the Heat but I feel like the Thunder can sneak a title in there (Maybe this year!?). They are so balanced and will be hitting their primes together.

Yeah that is what I don't get? If you have the best record in the league, why the hell would you doubt your team especially when you had the best home record as well. Doesnt make sense to me.

It's like Indiana in 2004 had the best overall record in the league that year, sure they didn't win it all, but you can't tell me that you wouldn't think they could? Or Detroit in 2006 when they had the best record in the league or Phoenix in 2005. Obviously it doesn't mean the team with the best record in the league will win it all, but to pick someone else when your team has the best record IMO makes no sense unless your 2nd best player is injured or something.

This year- Bulls
Next year- Heat
Following year-Heat
Following year- Knicks
Following year - Clippers

I'm Surprised so many people are picking the Thunder to win a championship. To me, they are like the Jazz, the Pacers, or the Knicks of the 90's. They'll will be very good for most of the decade, but I don't see them quite getting over the hump. If they make it to the finals they are going to run into the Bulls, the Heat, or the Knicks with Chris Paul.

how the **** would the lakers be relevant in 2015?

Because they're the Lakers, and always find a way to be relevant. They are the most consistent championship team in NBA history. If they win this year, they will have tied Boston for 17 titles, but unlike Boston, the Lakers championships are spread out over decades and not just the 50s and 60s. That's consistency.

I could say Lakers every year, because I think they will find a way to be relevant for the next 5 (rest of Kobe's career), but here are my predictions:

10/11 - Lakers
11/12 - Lakers (if they get Howard) or Heat
12/13 - Lakers (if they get Howard) Thunder
13/14 - Chicago
14/15 - Heat

You know, cause we somehow made the playoffs this year at 22-60... lol then again, I better go check the 8th place record since the eastern conference sucks something fierce.

Bulls/Lakers
Heat (Over Thunder)
Thunder (Over Heat)
Knicks (Over Nuggets)
Lakers (Over Pacers/Raptors)

To explain the next few years

- I see the heat being able to utilize their MLE and acquire some guys in areas that they lack and want to win instantly (E.g. Chandler as the defensive inside presence, or bench depth).

- I think the Thunder would win a title on their second try, learning from their mistakes in the previous matchup.

- I see the Knicks winning the 4th as they would be able to add a strong core around Amar'e and Melo (or even possibly one of Howard/Williams/Paul).. Similar to what I think of the Miami situation, but a few years from now. I see some of the young talent that the Nuggets acquired from the Knicks emerging and they would form a team similar to the Detroit Pistons of the mid 2000s.

- The last one would go to the Lakers, as I think they would be able to go acquire someone big from the previous draft classes (Wall, Griffin) to join up with Kobe and Bynum (assuming that they haven't retired or are traded due to the CBA)... Out of the East, I'll admit that I have some bias (since I'm a Raptors fan, I can be hopeful lol) but I see the young talent of both teams (Indiana more than Toronto, seeing where they are now) developing into something good.

But I guess we'll see. This thread is basically asking for the Bulls/Heat fans to fight with each other (seeing as both will likely be top teams in the East for years to come) lol we have to remember that this is a prediction thread. It's what we think (not what we know), not really a point in taking shots at someone for their own opinion of it.

not 5, not 6, not 7. That's my answer. This decade belongs to Miami :).

I gotta put the heat in about 2-3 of the years. Bulls also should get 1. The other one... we'll see.
