Ding: 74% of NBA players answer Kobe to "Who do u want shooting with game on line?" Durant 8%, Wade 3%, Allen/Nowitzki 2%. (SI poll, 166 players.)

Why the hell would anyone choose Durant?

I'll take Melo.

You can't argue with the stats that Abbot found  Game winning shots are something that the stats don't lie about, period. I'm not surprised the players still overwhelming feel it's Kobe, but again, you can't argue with makes vs. misses too much.

I'm still taking guys like Anthony, Paul, Dirk and Ray Ray over Kobe

if its a 3 im taking ray allen, without even thinking. but if its a 2 id take melo or kobe.

In that player poll, Chauncey Billups got the second-most votes as the preferred go-to crunch-time scorer. Billups is 3-of-27 with the game on the line over the past five seasons. Dead last in the NBA among those who have attempted at least 15 shots.

Shows what this poll means.

Kobe over the last 2 years has been very impressive regardless of the stats of previous years. I have heard that in the fourth quarter overall he leaves much to be desired. for instance, going 3-9 in the fourth aainst the hornets the other night. but that doesnt account for FTs so idk. but give me melo.

It's funny how NBA coaches and players are polled and Kobe wins by a large margin yet haters on here still fail to give Kobe any respect. I guarantee you, your pick would pass the ball to Kobe for the final shot.

What did he just get fined for? What was he accused of in CO? Did he repeatly trash his roots? Did he get Shaq traded? Did he almost get himself traded? Who trashed Pau Gasol a few days ago?

I think he's a great player but he's a horrible human being. The NBA is better for him having been born but the world is worse.

Now on topic......Kobe is a great clutch player no doubt, but as I said I'd take Ray Allen (well I said Ray Ray).

Wade>You

If you were Kobe, who are the two players you would want sweeping up your missed shot so your team can still win the game while you take all the credit? Pau Gasol and Ron Artest.

j/k ;-)

Unless these players are hitting these shots in the finals and playoffs to win series, then you go with the guy who has the best percentage statswise.

I am a knick fan but LETS BE ****IN SERIOUS.

KObe can go 0 for 28 and I'd still give it to him.

2. MELO
3. ALLEN
4. PIERCE

I havent seen Rose hit any crazy game winners but he is a good/great last 3 minute player.

Who doesn't say f*%#*t? Everyone does! He was prove innocent(girl was a ****)! Shaq got his as traded he wanted 30 million a year and he was clearly on the decline(yet haters say Kobe ran him out of town gtfo)! He just wanted to win he didn't care where(how is he a horrible person for that?) and he never trashed pau he just said if people aren't gonna show up to play then he wasn't gonna wait for them to step up! Your just a bitter philidelphia fan all of you hate Kobe who cares and your a terrible person for believing whatever the media feeds you! I guess Kobe never helped people in need, I guess he never gave sick people visits, I guess when everyone was donating 10,000 dollars Kobe was donating 100,000 and I guess Kobe is bringing championships to LA and not Philadelphia and that's why your so bitter get over it! Kobe is not a bad person the media just makes him out to be a horrible person!

But back on topic

Why is everyone so enamored with this "last shot" and "closer" business all of a sudden? The last shot represents, what, 3 seconds of a 48 minute game? What does all this mean? When I think of last second shots I think of Robert Horry... the GOAT?

The latter. I'm just railing against the idea that the "jump shot is a weakness to [Wade's] game!" If I were to vote, I'd go with Bryant, but this would likely be the last year that I'd pick him.

More-Than-Most
04-20-2011, 03:32 AM
Dirk... The guy has such a sweet ****ing touch. I wish Nash would take the last shot but he never does.. he just creates for everyone else and pitches out to someone and they take it. I think he would be successful as well. Dirk/Kobe basically but a sleeper pick in Nash would be nice. My Nash Bias will never stop.

Current player: Ray Allen and I don't put anyone a close second on a last second shot

Top three in order all time I'd want taking the last shot: Robert "Big Shot Rob" Horry (I wouldn't necessarily want him the whole game but last shot off the charts), Reggie Miller, a tie for third MJ or Bird
