View Full Version : First Round Match-Ups: Lakers V Hornets

I love CP3. I like David West, and I am happy to see NO back in the playoffs, especially considering their finacial woes, but... I mean, its the Lakers. Kobe, Gasol and Odom just know the triangle too well. Odom is having a great season, Artest is still a pesky defender and guys like Fisher, Barnes, Brown and hopefully Bynumb, is just going to be too much for NO. I mean, LA has great vets like Ratliff and Joe Smith coming in just to spell guys. Could you imagine having talent like that jsut tp pull off of the end of the pine? And on top of that, we know LA is going to try to make a statement with their opening round series.

Its not that I doubt guys like Okafor, or Ariza, and I know this NO team played with a lot of heart, pulling out 46 wins in the toughest division, but that said....

LA sweeps.

I think NO wins 1 at most. Too much size for NO.

Don't blink, its going to be a short one.

*Bynumb? I see where you're trying to go with this...

LA in 4.

04-14-2011, 11:19 AM
Lakers in 6.

04-14-2011, 11:21 AM
Clean sweep for lakers

04-14-2011, 11:23 AM
Hornets have to steal one of the first two in Los Angeles, or it'll be a sweep.

the lakers mustve prayed because this is the best matchup for them, whether Bynum's there or not. NWO just doesn't have enough support around Paul to cause a threat. Paul will play well, but the rest of the team will suck. Lakers in 5.

04-14-2011, 11:33 AM
Isn't West done for the year?

04-14-2011, 11:38 AM
yeah he is that is why this will be a sweep

04-14-2011, 11:39 AM
The Lakers could just rest Kobe in this series.

04-14-2011, 11:40 AM
NO has been playing awful, but i see CP3 goin 30/15 in 1 home game bringin them a W

LAL in 5

04-14-2011, 11:45 AM
lakers WILL win the series in 6games

04-14-2011, 11:50 AM
Lakers in 4. :)

04-14-2011, 11:52 AM
Lakers in 5 (at most).

04-14-2011, 11:55 AM
LA in 5.. I say we lose one

04-14-2011, 11:57 AM
Lakers in 5.

04-14-2011, 12:06 PM
The Hornets might sneak 1 win in a close game but.. I'm going with a Lakers sweep. I wish Bynum doesn't play in this series, he's not needed and I'd rather not risk any injuries.

04-14-2011, 12:13 PM
hornets in 7

04-14-2011, 12:17 PM
LA sweeps. Don't see this series being competitive at all.

04-14-2011, 12:24 PM
Lakers in 2. New Orleans is absolutely the easiest team to beat in the first round for the Lakers of all playoff teams east and west.

04-14-2011, 12:31 PM
I wish New Orleans had D. West still so it could have been interesting. Lakers sweep. :D

When evaluating the talent, and recognizing that West is injured this should be an easy sweep for LA. But we know these Lakers, and their ability to lose focus, and blow games against teams they should demolish on paper. If Paul has a night he's capable of having, Okafor neutralizes the Lakers front-line, and Ariza (or Marco) heats up from behind the arc like he did during the '09 plays, NO can steal a game from the Lakers in NO.

Lakers in 5.

04-14-2011, 12:42 PM
Lakers in 5. Could be a sweep as well.

04-14-2011, 12:56 PM
la gets luck again.....

04-14-2011, 01:00 PM
la gets luck again.....

it's not luck. The Grizz didn't want to play the Lakers so they tanked last night.

I love Chris Paul and wish he was on my Magic squad but, this series is gonna be ugly. Even if the Hornets did have David West it wouldn't have mattered. The Lakers are basically too big for them and cmon do you really think Kobe is going to let his team lose focus now that the playoffs are here. Lakers will either sweep or end it in 5 games tops.

04-14-2011, 01:42 PM
I think 6.

The Lakers are playing inconsisstenly right now. Best possible match up to get their rhythm back tho.

I would rest Bynum for this series. I wonder if Steve Blake will be back for this series.

04-14-2011, 01:45 PM
I say Lakers in 5. Sweeps are never this easily predictable. They always come as a surprise year in and year out. This one has all the signs of a sweep.....so therefore it won't be.

Lakers in 5. :D

LA in 4 w/o a doubt Nawlins doesnt stand a chance

04-14-2011, 01:57 PM
Lakers in 5

04-14-2011, 02:43 PM
I love my Hornets but even I know that it will be tough to get past the Lakers and deep into the playoffs. I fully think from the begining of the season this was a playoff team but not a title contender.

04-14-2011, 03:14 PM
Lakers should sweep..but I think they'll sleepwalk thru one game in NOand lose it...so I say Lakers in 5

04-14-2011, 03:17 PM
lakers in 4, rest bynum for first 3 games , rest those knees big fella (pause)

04-14-2011, 03:54 PM

04-14-2011, 04:03 PM
i think the lakers will lock-in for the playoffs. love cp3, but the hornets just don't have the talent to keep up. i see a sweep.

04-14-2011, 04:38 PM
Because the Lakers always seem to play lackadaisically in the first round, I'll give the Hornets two games.

04-14-2011, 05:02 PM
Lakers in 6

04-14-2011, 08:16 PM
since new orleans is without david west, i think la wins in 5.

04-14-2011, 08:19 PM
lakers in 5
