Since the regular season is all but over, I'm wondering which deadline trade/player do you guys think helped that team the most in the stretch run toward the playoffs?

I think Gerald Wallace trade will pay the most dividends. He blends in with them perfectly. Portland is going to be NO joke in that first round!

NOW - Denver Portland and OKC

Knicks -For the Future! [STAT & MELO] (MAYBE ANOTHER BIG NAME) NO WEDDING NO SECRETS ;)

'Melo trade helped both teams as we're starting to see the Knicks turn it on. LOL at whoever said Deron Williams. Perkins has an argument but does anyone really think he improved OKC more than what 'Melo is doing for NY?? personally, i don't think so. quite frankly, i'm surprised nobody else has mentioned 'Melo to the Knicks.

Deron Williams

Deron Williams if he signs and extension and brings in a free agent and Perkins if OKC wins a title.

The OKC trade really helped them. Serge hosts a block party every game, and can do that since Perk is holding down the Bigs so Ibaka doesnt have to.

The Gerald Wallace trade really made the Blazers good. We got him for nothing.

It's almost too perfect. Portland added a great player and they're facing (most likely) Dallas, a team who has struggled to get out of the 1st round recently.

Basically, as a Blazer fan, when things line up this perfectly, it's time to get nervous...

Lulz. And no one else has mentioned the Knicks because Denver won that trade.

For me, #1 has to be Portland. Wallace is a perfect fit and makes that team scary with all those options. #2- Perkins. #3- Denver.

But the Williams and Carmelo trades were both great for the future.

C'mon man, I think Wallace was the best singular player but Denver won as a team, they've gone like 18-6 since the trade...

I'll give you facts. The Celtics are heading into the playoffs counting on the old bodies of Shaq and JO who have played a combined 61 games this season. personally I hope they hold up and win the finals, but as far as winning this year, they took a step back.

You can make a case that the not trading OJ Mayo helped the Grizzlies with Rudy Gay going down.
Especially with what OJ going to do these playoffs

I'm trying to figure out who the Perkins team helped the most...

The Thunder, or the Lakers?

I guess if the Thunder get past Denver and upset San Antonio, most will say OKC...

But if LA wins the title b/c Boston is the only team that can beat them, I'd say it helped LA!

on a MUCH lesser scale, bibby has really helped our team. great pickup for us. he has given us exactly what we needed in a PG

Everyone's forgotten that we also got Nazr, who has been amazing for us as well. We won the trade deadline, followed closely by Denver and Portland (they're going to destroy Dallas).

Knicks and nuggets both helped their teams, more for the future than the present but each team is more than capable of pulling an upset because of their new line ups.

I immedaitley want to say Perkins because it instantly makes OKC a tough team, and a better Defensive and rebounding team. Having the ability to play Ibaka at the 4 and perkins at 5 is a scary defenisve sight, and when you have Westbrook and Durant on the offensive side of the ball it's not easy to stop, but the addition of Gerald Wallace to the Blazers was solid too. He gives them a player who can do it all, and with out needing to dominate the ball to do it. He is the perfect complaiment to LA, and when / if Brandon Roy can return to his full abilites this team is deadly.

Perk to OKC should prove to be key for them and the positive effect they see will equal the negative effect Boston will see. Ainge dropped the ball on this one.

Denver really did the best all things considered. They traded a guy who was known to be gone and got meaningful pieces for him and they are heading to the playoffs as confident as ever.

Who did Portland trade to get G Wallace ?

The Bobcats acquired a conditional 2011 first-round pick Portland obtained from New Orleans and a conditional 2013 first-rounder from the Trail Blazers.

Also heading to Charlotte are center Joel Przybilla, reserve forward Dante Cunningham and center Sean Marks, who are in the last year of their contracts, and cash.

The G Wallace trade definitely helps the Blazers

For future.... the Knicks got the best deal, followed by NJ (if they can keep Williams)

I want to say Wallace or Carmelo but without a doubt I believe it's Perkins. I'm starting to convince myself that the Thunder have suddenly become the toughest out in the entire Western Conference with Manu and Bynum going down. Without Perkins I'd be a little worried against a hot Nuggets team, with Perkins they might have a chance at the whole damn thing. You can't say that about the Blazers or Knicks.
