Heat forward LeBron James has now scored 2,000 points in seven straight seasons.

LeBron James and Oscar Robertson are the only players with six seasons of at least 2,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.

James entered Wednesday night's game against the Milwaukee Bucks with 1,998 points this season. He made a pair of free throws with 2:12 remaining in the first quarter to reach the 2,000 milestone. James finished the game with 29 points.

The NBA's two-time reigning MVP is the eighth player to score 2,000 points seven times. At 26, he's the youngest member of that club.

He's also the seventh person in NBA history to score 2,000 in seven straight seasons, joining Wilt Chamberlain, Alex English, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Oscar Robertson and Dominique Wilkins.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar also scored 2,000 points seven times, though not consecutively

I think a lot of people thought his numbers would drop. Impressive that he kept his scoring up even though he's playing with wade and bosh

Wow. If only he could make the big baskets or passes at the end of the game... when it all matters. Nice state tho. He is a beast. To bad he ring chased instead of creating his own legendary career. It will always be mentioned that he left his hometown. Shame really.

Yea, I took Durant over him in my fantasy draft for that reason. Good for him though, that's good company.

See I don't get it Why leave cleveland If he still has to score 2k points a season. to win less games than last year

Seven consecutive 2000+ pt seasons is cute and all, but LeBron's statistics can't hold a candle to Derrick Rose and his intangibles. LeBron is just another stats whore.

but come playoffs time who would you rather go into battle with? Mo Williams or Dwyane Wade?

I rest my case.

Why are you even bringing it up this has nothing to do about DRose or bulls. Seems to me some of you want to bring up the bulls any chance you get also.

Back on topic it really is impressive, because I too though that his stats would drop. I didn't think it would be drastic but still very impressive.

How many consecutive 2000/500/500 seasons does Oscar Robertson have...I find that to be the most impressive here. 6 consecutive seasons of 2000/500/500 which only Oscar Robertson has done is very impressive. How many times would LeBron have to do that for him to be considered the only one?

Looked it up myself. The Big O had 6 straight seasons of 2000/500/500+ from 60/61 to 65/66. LeBron just matched that. Robertson had another one but it wasn't consecutive. In the 7th season of that 6 season run, he had 486 rebounds falling just short with his 845 assists and 2412 points. Guy was incredible.

He still scored 2k despite leaving Cleveland for a better team but he didn't switch teams so that he wouldn't have to score 2k. He scores 2k because he's good. He shoots over 50% and he's very efficient, leading the league in the category I'm pretty sure. Its not like he left Cleveland so he could take it easy and coast. He still has to play basketball.

I don't think they'll win this year but a whole year of chemistry under their belt is gonna make a big difference. Guys can't just play together instantly, especially ones that are used to leading their team.

Right now Lebron is at four consecutive season he would need three more in the next three seasons to be the only one.

So what if people were actually conscious of that and not making ignorant claims without even trying to pay attention to the fact that he indeed has a good jump shot? They'd find something else to dislike about his style of play.

he does have a jumper now.

Congrats on the accomplishment. Many will still bring up no rings, and that he now plays with help (pathetic argument), but you should all sit back and watch one of the greater talents the NBA has seen instead of being so negative about him.

He actually 'only' has 4 consecutive season of 2000/500/500.. From 2007-08 to this season. He missed out on it in 2006-07 by 30 assists and if he had got it then he'd already have the current record. This would be his 7th consecutive 2000/500/500 season if he'd done it in 2006-07. Oscar Robertson did it his first 6 seasons before falling 14 rebounds short of doing it in the 1966-67 season.

Barring injury, I can see LeBron breaking the record in three years time... I really don't see his numbers dropping below 27/7/7 for the next 5-6 years.

Congrats LeBron. I feel honored to be able to watch such an incredible player in his prime. I'm so glad I don't let blind hate get in the way of appreciating how good he is.

Seriously, a lot of people of here let their hate for him get in the way but we're watching a player do things that have been done by not even a handful of NBA legends. He's literally breaking records and joining HOF'ers every season.

When his career is all said and done and we can analyze how many rings he's got (he will get them, you're ignorant to think otherwise), how many records he set etc. I think we'll truly be able to admire how amazing he was and I think a lot of people that hated on him will regret not fully appreciating him.

The immaturity of PSD never ceases to amaze me... This is a thread commemorating his achievements yet we still have posts saying things like "stats mean nothing", "he still doesn't have a ring", "Kobe's got rings, rings > stats".

Can there not for once be a LeBron thread praising the guy for his play without having to bring up all this ****?

Clearly not....

Great achievement for Lebron. With his built and talent, we will see this stats popping up for many years to come.

On the other note, why would you even bring this up? Don't you think you like more of a homer for this? Idiotic comments like this is what starts all this stupid non-credible arguments that homers seems to be obsessed with by being the first one to anticipate and point it out to the others resulting to ruining the thread. I'd ban you for simply derailing the thread from this kind of comments. At least contribute by commenting about the original post.

It will also depend on the possible lockout next year if it goes anything like last time where they didn't play the first half of the season than the consecutive streak will snap

Good **** Lebron. It really is fun to watch him play he is just the complete package.

Being a Bulls fan I hated him when he was with the Cavs. but, now that it has became cool to hate him I actually like the guy a little more. I don't wanna say I hope he wins a ring cause that would be saying the Bulls don't but, I think he will get his soon enough. I am not a huge Lebron fan I just have no problem taking my hate aside to admit he is an amazing talent. When it is all said and done I don't want to be one of those people who didn't get a chance to appreciate watching one of the best talents this league has seen.

Too bad more bulls fans are not like you. I wasn't the biggest fan of him either last season, but when you put aside his antics, his talent is really amazing.
