View Full Version : Kemba Walker wants NY!

allSUAVE

Connecticut guard Kemba Walker would love to team up with Carmelo Anthony and play for his hometown team.

"It's special, a special place to play," he said. "Everybody dreams of playing in this place, the bright lights, everybody watching. It's just a special place."

Walker, who’s on pace to graduate this summer, has long followed the career of Carmelo Anthony.

"Carmelo Anthony has been my favorite player so wherever he goes, I go," Walker said when asking who he roots for. "I think about that all the time. I would love to not only play with him but play for this organization, just because I'm from here. But whatever happens, happens. I can't control stuff like that."

The Houston Rockets can swap first round picks with the Knicks in the 2011 draft so long as New York's 1st round pick is not the 1st overall selection.

Who cares? he's garbage. The refs jerked him off all the way to the championship game and he just went 5-19. he's garbage. hype. overrated. forgotten. btw that was the worst Championship Game i've ever viewed i wish i could have those hours of my life back. what a "storybook" ending to Walkers media hyped marketing campaign.

Anyone else find it a little "fishy" that all the Walker hype started --not at the beginning of the season-- --not in correlation with his BigEast championship run-- the hype started right when Brandon Davies got booted from BYU.

Well they need a center yes. But almost every team in the NBA is looking for a good center. They are not easy to find. So if a good player is available at #16 you take him, you don't just draft a project center just for the sake of drafting one. Knicks already have a porject center in Jerome Jordan who is coming over next year and in 2012 a ton of cap space. So I say they take the BPA.

for some reason everytime I see Kemba Walker I think of Kahlid El-Amin

El-Amin was a chubrock though.

i think he would be best on the t'wolves. it would be crazy because they have used so many picks on pg's. but they lack a primary scorer who can take and make big shots. and even if rubio does come you have a great player than can play ooff the bench and against certain teams could start next to rubio. he is extremely well at playing off the ball. one of uconn's best lineups was napier/walker/lamb in the backcourt with napier being the primary ball handler. and that gives you trade bait in ridnour/flynn. i may be wrong but i doubt it. and if i am hawkeye will tell em why haha.

Kemba can keep it in his pants. NY should not draft him when they need a C. Its doubtful Kemba will be there, but even if he is NY should try to move/use the pick for a big.

Ur forgetting that his defense as a sg was minimized in zone defense. U cannot play zone the entire game in the nba. Kemba will get killed as a sg in the nba. Also making him a starter at pg for the upcoming year might just make rubio mad

Actually NY needs a guy like Kemba with Chauncey getting older and having Toney/Kemba off the bench is a nightmare for other teams.

There really isn't any C prospects that would help the Knicks in a way to spend our 1st rounder on anyway. We most likely will go for a guard and then a SF to replace Shawne Williams.

I doubt Kemba falls that low though. His stock improved a ton since he was a part of UConns success and this isn't a star studded draft. Plus Houston will swap picks with us and just for Karma's sake would take him so we can't have him. That's how life works.

It really does not matter what he wants. I am betting that he ends up in Detroit or Toronto depending on how the Lottery shakes out.

Houston isnt swapping... They have the rights to but will not. I like toney douglas as the bench guy, but a better player as a starter thats not in this years draft

i didnt say start him at the 2. or keep him there for the whole game. but he could slide to the 2 at times. and his defense is incredible. he has quick hands and good lateral speed. and idk if i would care about "making rubio mad" i would care about improving my team. and any gm will tell you that you draft on talent instead of team need. if they have the chance to get him they should. the knicks would get him if given the chance but no way he slips to them.

I would love to have him here in NY. He is a basketball player point blank. He's a proven winner and comes from a great program.......and the best thing about it all is that he wants to be here in NY. I hope we can move up in the draft to possibly land him.

your wrong...which is ok, houston will want to swap because this draft sucks, the knicks also know...this draft sucks, it's not because houston wants the pick, the knicks won't do it, unless isiah gives jimmy a call, noone is swapping

HOU is going to have a lottery pick (top 14) NY has the 16th or 17th pick. Why would HOU want to swap?...

UNLESS HOU feels they can get the same player at #16 at a lower salary. But its unlikely.

LMFAO u have no idea what you're talking about. Rockets were given the rights to swap picks with the Knicks because of the trade last year. Why would the Rockets swap picks when they most likely won't make the playoffs and will have the 14th pick while the Knicks will have the 16th? So yeah.. you're wrong... which is ok, if you had any idea about the NBA.

You didn't read the thread or the posts and then you basically say we shouldn't want a player that will make our team better when he could be available to us in the draft.

And to top it off, Curry? Really?

C'mon Bulls fans. Be smarter.

I think the Clippers would be a good look for him. Him and Gordon in the backcourt would be sick.

The last thing the Knicks need is another shoot first player, they need defensive bigs and pass first pg's.

Lol Who cares if he's top 10? Everyone knows he's a great talent and he can be a great player under the mentorship of Chauncey Billups. Do you realize how many players are stars in the NBA that were not top 10?

Are you so insecure you have to bait Knicks fans instead of making an intelligent post?

He is better than Toney Douglas. But on defense, Douglas is better. My, bad for not understanding what you meant.

no, just Melo. at least Lebron and Bosh had "decided" in the offseason when they were free agents

And ****ed their old teams over. Melo didn't ask to be traded, all he did was decide not to sign an extention, he was traded mid season because the nuggets didn't want to end up like the cavs or raptors, and the nuggets got a pretty good package back for him and Chauncey.

There's nothing wrong with knowing where you want to go when you're about to be a free agent. It was up to melo whether or not to sign an extention with another team, I don't see why he is a dick because he only wanted to sign one for the team he wants to play for.... At some point you have to be selfish and worry about what you want.
