I know it's still the first year in many of these contracts, but i think it's a good time to evaluate and discuss. which of these 2010 off-season contracts do you guys think is the worst?

i'm torn between Haywood and Johnson

I accidently voted for Brendan Haywood but I meant to vote for Joe Johnson, Miami's 3rd option(Chris Bosh) is averaging more points than him

Joe Johnson stole 120 million dollars, which might as well be like 200 million living in Atlanta

5 years 34 million. that is a terrible contract too, but he's less known and i didn't think he'd get alot of votes that why i never gave him his on option.

everyone will undoubtedly go with joe johnson, yes its horrid but i have to go with haywood.55 mil and the guy they brought in to be your backup ends up stealing your job and they have no real need for you anymore

I voted for Joe Johnson and his ridiculous contract that'll be paying him $24.9M when he's 34 years old, but on second thought, $55M for a 4 point, 4 rebound backup center that will be raking in $9.8M when he's 36 is pretty ****ing horrible.

Haywood. At least JJ can produce sometimes. Haywood is garbage.

Joe Johnson is not the worst. At least he's worth the first 3-4 years of it. Haywood is already being paid 3x more than he should

Haywood at least deserves the contract, just not from the Mavs because they have Tyson Chandler. Haywood is a good player and would start for most teams. Kind of just proves how dumb the Mavs FO is.

My vote is David Lee, literally has done nothing this season and makes 25mil more. JJ was crazy but I don't think they really wanted to contend, just keep the fans in there seats.

Haywood what?

Haywood pulled an Erick Dampier and busted his butt for the first time in his career when it was time to get paid. He didn't deserve that contract.

While that may be true, when he was busting his butt he looked really good. Maybe losing his starting job to Chandler makes him apathetic. Plus he was worth about 40-45 mil, which means he got overpaid about 10-15mil. Whereas JJ got overpaid by like 40 mil and the same for David Lee.

Haywood and Joe Johnson.

Atlanta should of offer that money to Dirk or Durant and forse their teams to match.

But I'm going with Brendon Haywood ,wow they are stuck with that contract for a while because nobody is taking that.

Tyson Chandler is a free agent, they going to lose him.

Im going Haywood; he had a chance to be the starter and I believe that if Chandler goes down he could come in and provide a presence down low. 55 mil is alot but eh its the Mavs. They got dough. Joe Johnson imo is the worst. Thats Super Duper star money and he isn't one. He has phenomenal offensive skills. I went back and compared the numbers and figured out what his problem is. He is allergic to getting to the free throw line. So he doesn't put pressure on opposing guards or bigs by getting them in trouble; it doesn't help in winning games. He will never live up to this contract. Way worse than allan houston deal. ATL gonna regret that one.

David Lee was injured the first part of the season. Averaging 16 and 9 on a team that focuses on guards isn't bad.

He didn't really lose his starting job. He never really cared to start after getting paid. Coming into the season he was out of shape and really seemed as if he wasn't really interested in continuing on from his play of last season.

While others were overpaid by a larger margin they weren't without merit. JJ, Lee and Haywood are all under-performing but at least those players are still giving night in and night out. Haywood however is not.

Its not a great contract but its not absurd either. He isn't a bad player and plays hard every night. 6 mill a year for a team isn't that hard to buy out either. Joe Johnsons on the other hand. Wow he was overpaid.

AS for Haywood. Try finding a serviceable starting centre for less. Centres are always overpaid (Dwight Howard excluded). You can't teach size.

KD is yet to hit free agency.

He signed a 5 year 86 million dollar extension with the Thunder in July of last year.

I voted Haywood simply because I think over the contract he has the least chance to produce. Joe Johnson's was bad but he would have gotten it somewhere. My second choice was David Lee, 80 MILLION for Lee.. Jesus.

People complain about large contracts in baseball due to lack of salary cap but as these examples show, horridddd contracts are given out in all sports. These are just flat out terrible.

That's a good point...I didn't think about that before I voted..If atl didn't give it to him Chi might have instead of getting Boozer..

Atl is stuck right now...With this current team they will never get any further than the 2nd rd... If I were them I would just try and build around JJ and Horford...move JSmooth....he's a good player but he's the next most valuable asset they have...

It wasn't this offseason, but let me vent. I cant believe Kapono is making over 5-million to keep the bench warm. Anyway, carry on.

My opinion may be a little different that most, but I went with Johnson. In the games I watch him play the Sixers, Iguodala makes him irrelevant.
