Does that make Dwight Howard one of the biggest MVP snubs in the history of the NBA?

No. Sorry, but MVP's never are on a fourth place team. Howard is having a great year, but no this wouldn't be the biggest snub in the history of the NBA.

No. I think it would be a snub no doubt, but there are far greater snubs. Kobe should have won one a lot earlier than he did. And the one Kobe did get should have gone to CP3. I think those are bigger snubs.

That's just going off of memory though and not looking back for any factual support.

Only IF Dwight's Magic win every game from here on out and Rose's Bulls loses every.

Even as a Dwight fan, no.

Rose isn't having the strongest MVP year ever, but it's not like Dwight or the Magic are either.

No. Rose is more deserving of the award than Howard.

all i have to say is imagine the Magic without Dwight... theyd be Cavs status right now.

IMO Dwight is more deserving stat wise... but the fact that those stats are winning his team as many games as the Bulls is the reason Rose will get it.

No. If your not a top 2 seed or a have one of the top 3 records by years and then theres no point in winning the reward. It isnt fair because IMO Dwight impact on every possession means a whole lot to that team but it is what it is

Nah, it's bad but Shaq had much bigger snubs.

Yeah. MVP is a team-dependent award. I don't get how you can make this claim (the OP's claim that is) when the Magic are way out there in 4th place.

There have been probably 10-20+ more controversial snubs than Dwight, if he does in fact not win.

Not the biggest the snub in Nba history

NO cause DR1 is having a great year and is leading his team to victories. Howard is awesome but is in 4th place. I think they both deserve it but since the bulls are winning alot more then Rose should get it

Next to Nash winning over Kobe it's the biggest snub

dude...biggest snub ever? When did u start watching basketball? The fact that jordan didnt win it every year shows you what the award is about. Its not m.o.p. Its m.v.p. Big difference.

Agreed. Kobe's 05-06 season is the biggest MVP snub in the modern era. 35.6/5/4 and 1.8 steals (not to mention the 81 point game). Nash had a great season that year and had a much better team; but did not deserve MVP.

I think Van Gundy had a point a couple weeks ago. The media really does decide who wins the MVP. Kobe was being scrutinized and Nash was put on a pedistal. In retrospect Nash played a great season... but take away the flashy passes and clutch threes and it isn't comparable to Kobe's.

There are currently 4 MVP threads in the first page of the NBA forum. This isn't really "news"...and certainly can be discussed in the The Official 2010-2011: Race to the MVP Discussion Thread Part VII.

I think the whole point of that is to avoid this clutter...and I think we've also already reached a consensus.
