View Full Version : If Lakers have the best overall record...

Does Kobe have a shot at MVP.

I think it is a legitimate question one that the media will consider if they find a way to have the overall best record in the league and the bulls drop a game or two.

I really would like to see the Lakers go 9-0 (which is highly unlikely) so Kobe has a shot at one more MVP. I think he deserves more than 1 MVP for his career.

Thoughts?

The way he's being playing, yes. I honestly think he is more valuable, than Rose would ever be to this team or even his. Why nobody see's that is beyond me. But **** it let them(media) dig themselves into a bigger whole, with their votes, it would just show more that MVP's are irrelevant.

The Media has already chose who they want. It would be awesome to hear what some Bulls fan would say if that did happen though. That would just be Epic. All of us Laker fans can sit back and laugh while they ***** up a storm.

But yes if the Lakers were to do that, Kobe should definately be MVP. He has just been robbed so many times it's hard to think they would give it to him now after the Media has made Rose their little darling.

Here is hoping that the Lakers close out the season proper so this discussion can be had.

I seriously don't want Kobe to get the MVP, that thing is like a curse on winning the title or hell getting to the finals lately.

KOBE = 3PEAT Finals MVP

I am so with you bro. I REALLY don't like what mvps from regular seasons have been doing in the playoffs past years lol

and i really don't mind Rose getting it. It's kinda cool he will be the yongest XD and another award that Lebron is not the youngest lol

Who knows? Usually, #1 record in NBA translates to MVP. He definitely deserves to have more than 1 season MVP.

Hell yes he deserves it, hopefully he does get it. If Nash got 2, Kobe should have 4. lol

Kobe has no chance of winning the MVP this year, it'll be Rose.

If anyone can break that bs curse its Kobe lol

If the Lakers do finish with best record he should def be up for mvp...and then he could cap it off with a finals mvp too..

all star mvp...reg season mvp...and finals mvp?? I'm feeling that lol

Wasn't kobe supposed be declining this season???:D

i think he definitely should be even if they don't have best record...its amazing that he only has 1 MVP over his career

Bulls also need to finish behind Celtics or Heat, maybe both, for Kobe to have a real shot.

Unfortunately, media pretty much made up their minds. It's Rose's MVP to lose.

Too much hate for Colby, but if LA wins all 9 games, and he averages 30/5/5 (which he has been doing). There is a big chance of getting it...

Even if that happens, which it won't, Kobe would still only have about a 33% shot at MVP. Right now, he has probably a 20% shot. They should give it to him anyway, to make up for all the years he was robbed of it.
