If the lakers somehow win out the rest of the way and pass the spurs for 1st place and the bulls lose 2-3 more games will Kobe be considered the MVP or will rose still take it?

I posted this in the mvp thread...but the only way I can see it

1) Lakers have to win out or lose 1 game at the most
2) They have to finish with best record in the league which means passing SA
3) Bulls need to lose enough to where they fall out of 1st in east and drop to 3rd seed overall..

Even if that happens Rose still might get it, because i think the media really is in love with the Rose mvp story... but that's really the only way I can see Kobe winning...I think all that might be a little too much to ask for

So pretty much what you said lol

No.

Lakers would have to have the best record in the league and played exceptional against the elite teams. His stats are good enough, but it is not all about stats. I think it is Rose or Howard. Both very deserving this year.

I think its a three man race between Lebron, Dwight, and Rose. Kobe doesn't win regular season MVP's, only finals MVP's.

Agreed with the first part of the post.

no and who cares, it has become a meaningless award. For crying out loud, he didnt get it when he deserved it, and he got it when he didnt deserve it.

I dont think a 33 minute a game player should ever win MVP. If his team has the best record in the league with him playing so few minutes, then it goes to show how good a team he has.

If his team passes the Spurs, why not? He should be given heavy consideration that's for sure. The best player on great teams are always credited and really looked into when determining this award, I don't see why Kobe wouldn't. He most likely won't get it either way, but I would think he should deserve some serious consideration at least.

But when he's a 33 minute player that's averaging about the same numbers as a 38+ player, some rules can be bent :p

That said, I think this is Rose's year.

Maybe, but I think Howard, not Rose, should get it.

I don't know, again I would bring up the same argument as last year - that Pau has been as or more productive/important for them than Kobe. Especially given Kobe's huge reduction in minutes.

Kobe wins it when it counts and that's Finals MVP

kobe and rose are having the same season

Rose just gets 3 more assists, but he does play PG

Probably not, but I don't think he even cares. If he did, he would've told Phil to play him longer than 33mpg, but you can tell he and Phil have decided for the best by saving steam for the postseason.

Rose deserves it though, he or D12 and I truly believe its between those 2 and nobody else.

I think Kobe should win the MVP if they end up with the #1 spot in the west.

What I don't understand is when people say Lebron but Wade is not mentioned. Wade is the leader and the closer of the Heat. They both also have very similar stats.

If anything Wade/Lebron should be everybody response.

Well my very biased opinion says yes he can. My mind and common sense says there is no way the NBA and sports writers gives it to Kobe at this point.

Ya if the Lakers finish 1st I don't see why he shouldn't? Kobe plays about 7mins less than Rose and LBJ...so I'm not sure how big of a factor that is for the MVP consideration?

Everyone's saying D.Rose is lock for the MVP but I don't see why Lebron cant get it if the Heat finish 2nd. The team clearly doesn't function when one of the big 3 is missing. And the team has had a low bench production all year. The pg and center position have also been a weakness so this should be put into consideration. He racks up the stats prob even better than rose in all areas. So this kinda confuses me? I don't think Rose is a clear winner here...

Pau is not more important to the Lakers than Kobe. You must not watch Laker games if you think so.

If he averages 30/5/5 in the next 9 games and LA wins all 9 games left. He should be MVP...

I doubt it. Too much hate to the most dedicated player in NBA...

Oh Well...
