He is currently fifth on the all time scoring list with 28,590 points. He'll never join the 30,000 point club. If you use his scoring average this season (9.3 PPG), he'd have to play 44 more games to reach 29,000 points. I'm sure his average will deep, and he'll have to play even more games than that - possibly twice as many. Can O'Neal, the most powerful center in NBA history, reach 29,000?

I think he will. Doubt it's a big deal to him though. He's already been etched in NBA history forever.

He'll play at least 2 more seasons IMO.

I see him going to the Spurs, Heat or Lakers next year if he doesn't stay with the Celtics.

So he'll probably get 29,000.

I know this will be said a thousand times, but how many points would he have if he was even a 65% career free throw shooter? Well over 30K, right?

I think he will... even he plays lets say 5 games (celtics expect him back by apr 1) this season and about 41 out of 82 next season. he should be able to do it... but if he decides to play again after this season.

I can see him reaching 29,000 too bad he has to finish his career on a odd number if it was me that would drive me crazy

I think he will. he's stayed healthy pretty much for 19 years, I think he has 3 more yrs left scoring above 6 ppg.
