Instead of having a separate bracket for each side with 8 seeds, you combine the top 8 seeds from each conference and do the seeds from 1 to 16 depending on record.
This is how the playoffs would shape up under this scenario:

1.Spurs
16.Pacers

8.Magic
9.Blazers

2.Bulls
15.Knicks

7.Thunder
10.Nuggets

3.Lakers
14.Sixers

6.Heat
11.Hornets

4.Celtics
13.Grizzlies

5.Mavs
12.Hawks

This is not an idea I am suggesting the NBA adopt, just a fun scenario to play with for NBA fans.

This is the only way i would be happy with Chicago being #2 overall seed instead of us. HAHA. 8-9, 7-10, and 2-15 would be the most entertaining matchups IMO.

Huh... this would actually be pretty cool to see, haha. There are some pretty good match-up's in there, especially the Magic-Blazers game. Good idea, man.

It would be fun, but like you said something the league would not adopt due to the amount of traveling and stuff like that.

No other professional sports does it so why should the NBA which has existed a shorter amount of time than the other major sports?

MLB/NHL/NBA have 7 game series, so why should the NFL have a 1 and out system in the playoffs?

It's a great idea IMO op, but like others said it won't happen

Yeah I know it's not happening, like I said in the original post. Just a fun idea to play around with.

Heat-Hornets would be interesting. The Magic-Blazers matchup would be cool as well.
