If the team from the east and the team from the west each have the same regular season record and split the season series who has HCA in the NBA Finals if they met? Is the next item in line the Conference Record in your own conference or the record vs the other Conference?

I think its the same as regular tie breakers between two teams outside divisions... It would be conference record..then record against playoff teams in their own conference

I was wondering the same thing looking at the standings the other day...

it's gonna be a good race for 2nd best record

You're talkin about lakers and bulls right?

I do believe it goes to the team with the best conference record.

Or even Celtics vs Lakers would be the same situation

wish nba finals home court was like mlb who ever wins all star gets it.

I just hate how much easier to get more wins in the east...but maybe not this year

I think it then goes to common opponents.

Hey i found this from 2010:

The league office confirmed for me this morning that since the two teams split their regular-season series, the tie would be decided by record against the opposite conference. That tiebreaker would favor the Lakers, who are 22-8 against the East, while the Magic are 20-10 versus the West.

It's a question just in case it is the finals, so that fans would know who would have the HCA.
