Who's your darkhorse to go farther or play better than most espect?

Orlando, nobody's talking about them.

Orlando, nobody's talking about them.

I don't think they are as good or deep as the Celtics, Lakers, Mavs, etc. But they have arguably the most dominant player in the game in Dwight Howard who could cause problems for Boston and Miami.

I think they have potential to make a run, but I just don't see the depth and scoring some of the other teams have.

The new look Thunder. Perk and Muhammed give them a whole new force in the middle defensively. They look really good right now

If I were the Heat, Bulls, Magic, or Celtics, the Sixers are the last team i'd wanna face in the first round...

They play team basketball and have really solid team defense...

I would say the Thunder, but I don't really have a pulse on how far people expect them to go.

The Blazers if Roy can be his old self.

x2

I think if Roy can drop about 15-20 off the bench and be their perimeter closer they can easily upset Dal...of course they'll lose to the lakers next round, but I def think they can beat Dal.

The Blazers if Roy can be his old self.

I was in Oregon when the Blazers were just stockpiling young talent and the turnover from the JailBlazer days was just ending. That team was so fun to support, its such a shame that Roy's career has been derailed like it has, he was on his way to becoming a great player in the league for the next decade.

I like the pick though. Out of the box.

i dont think these teams qualify as darkhorse, since most "experts" consider them contenders: lakers, spurs, mavs, thunder, bulls, celtics, heat, and magic.

my darkhorse in west are the blazers and the 76ers in the east.

Blazers.. I think they going to give who ever they face in the first round problems, maybe grind out and win the series

210Don
03-17-2011, 06:10 PM
why?

there not good enough to beat anyone in the 2nd round.. westbrook i dont think can shoot good enough throughout a series to help durant out, i just dont see it happening maybe next year, they dont have enough offense or good enough perimeter defense.

POR is a good pick & NY. OKC is not a darkhorse, alot of people had them winning it all or making the finals before the season.

DEN might win a series, Gallo loves the spotlight, I think he'll become their go to guy in the playoffs and average 20+

I'm going to go really deep, and say 76ers since Collins they have gone 30-20. That's .667, not too shabby for a 7th place team that no one talks about

Portland they look really good. I can only imagine if Oden could ever stay healthy.

If I were the Heat, Bulls, Magic, or Celtics I would want to play the 76ers. That way you only have to play two quarters before the starters can rest.

Before season started everyone was saying Bulls and Thunder are darkhorses.
Now everyone sees them as contenders , so I'd say now Portland , Denver and Atlanta .
Portland will be dangerous if Aldridge and company continue to play as they did this season with healthy Roy off the bench - seems like a darkhorses to me
Denver - everyone is playing fast paced basketball , great team offense , no stars , they'll need someone to step up and I think JR is the right guy , he loves spotlight and can light it up every given night .
Atlanta - great teamwork , defense , offense , whatever you need .
J-Smoove , Captain Kirk , Horford , JJ , Crawford and company have defeated some elite teams this season , darkhorses ...
and if you noticed not 1 guy named them as darkhorses here ...

Aren't the Hawks like 4-9 in the last couple of weeks?

The Blazers if Roy can be his old self.

Even if he can't (which he can't) 25 minutes of Roy is still scary.

Andre Miller - Brandon Roy - Gerald Wallace - LMA - Marcus Camby with Matthews / Rudy / Batum is downright frightening.

I was telling someone earlier today that Portland will take down anyone not named LA in round 1. Dallas, OKC, San Antonio anyone.

i personaly think they have a chance coming out the west they have a young talented bench and the match up favor them almost everynite due to there overall team speed and quickness but it also depends on how durant plays i wish he would drive and post up more and stop playing as if he's glen rice that style only works when a player is in rhythm or they have glen rice DNA its just simply too hard to win playing in close games in the nba taking long range shots as your main option

People really dont know what a darkhorse is. I'mma go with the 6ers. They could surprise everyone by knocking off the Heat or Celtics.
