Sadly, Howard is doing all of this and will not win it.

I don't think anyone in baseball history has ever had those stats and won MVP.

While I agree Dwight's probably more deserving of the MVP than Rose in a lot (probably most, honestly) of respects, those are some random/half BS stats to go off of. I'm sure you could come up with an assortment of similar numbers for at least 5 players this year that "No non-MVP" has had (these could include steals, assists, PER, Win%, assist/to ratio, etc).

When's the last time a 5th seed has had a player actually win MVP, by the way? I doubt if it's within the last 2-3 decades.

My pick for MVP by years end? Kevin Durant.

Assumes the Thunder can keep this pace and take over the 3rd seed, and the Bulls don't finish #1. But if that ends up being the case, I'll take KD over Rose ("as fantastic as he's been") every second of every day.

What?

Its not

barkley in 86-87 and Shaq in 93-94 both didn't win MVP and there teams were the 2 seed

Accidently put blocks and not blocks a game Barkley didn't get up to 2 blocks

I think Dwight is the most valuable but if the Bulls finish #1 Rose will probably win. Durant definitely deserves to be mentioned but Westbrook has hurt KDs chances just by taking away possessions and not converting and a justifiable rate, which has led to OKC lossing some games they should have won.

I think what hurts D12s chances to win mvp is pretty much the same as the KD...recent history shows in order to win mvp you have to be on a title contender...and most people dont consider okc or orl title contenders...

The truth of the matter is that Orlando is drastically underachieving, Howard has very few leadership skills (is extremely immature) compared to Rose, who at 22, is far more mature and a leader than Dwight will ever be. Rose has put that team on his back. He is deserving. Anyone who says otherwise is just out to satisfy their own personal agenda, grudge, etc.

Well when you are predicted to be at least the 2nd seed and you end up 4th then that will hurt you a bit.

Can't bare to give Rose the MVP can you?;) Not sure how you say Durant would deserve it over Rose when the Thunder were predicted to finish 2nd in the West and the Bulls 4th in the East. As long as the Bulls finish top 2 and as long as the Spurs and Celtics are the only ones with a better record, Rose should win MVP especially considering now Boozer will have played under 60 games this year as well as Noah and considering Rose was the only allstar on his team this year.

He should win it, but he won't.

I don't know why people assume Chicago's performance has been about how great Rose is, or how Rose has kept them afloat during Boozer's and Noah's injuries.

They're a great team because of their defense and depth. Rose is only a small part of that.

Orlando on the other hand is a top rated defense even though every player on the team other than Dwight is subpar on that end. And, they play an inside-out style even though Dwight is their only big man.

Haha, try facing reality, Mr. Sandman. And don't bring me a dream, such as trying to demonstrate that Howard is mature. He behaves like a child on and off the court. Whereas, Rose demonstrates a composure, humility and focus that belies his age.

Oh yeah, and it's so slanderous of me to point out that the Magic is underachieving. How could I?

Both Rose and Howard are having great seasons statistically, both are incredibly hard workers, but I give almost every intangible to Rose.

because in part it has been, unless you watch game(many of you dont).you dont see that rose plays a large part in their success(solely? no)

dwights been having a killer year no doubt....but it hasnt been enough to make his team rise in the standings
